Our vision is that every child born in Hamilton County will reach his or her first birthday.

About us

Cradle Cincinnati is a network of community members and organizations working across sectors to measurably improve Hamilton County, Ohio’s infant mortality rate and to eliminate racial inequities in the health of moms and babies. We aim to do this by transforming systems, supporting families and amplifying Black women’s voices while empowering their ideas and actions. We firmly believe that no single organization can tackle the issue of infant mortality. Together, with the help of our entire community, we're focused on our goal of every baby living to celebrate their first birthday.

"Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from his April 1963 "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" Today, we honor the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose vision of justice, equality, and compassion continues to inspire us. Together, we can address inequities, break down barriers, and ensure every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

  • Please join us in celebrating the fabulous Deborah Polk as she embarks on a new chapter after eight years with Cradle Cincinnati!   As a community health worker, Ms. Deb has supported more than 1,000 families in Hamilton County — making sure that they have the information and resources they need to be healthy and to thrive. From connecting families with cribs to helping parents find stable and secure housing, and everything in between, her impact has been felt throughout every neighborhood, village and city in the county.   Beyond that, she's been a powerful voice for moms and babies, meeting with lawmakers in Columbus and D.C. to champion policies and share real stories of families in our community. Help us thank Ms. Deb in the comments as we send her off with gratitude and well wishes!

  • Let’s give our Circle of Advisors a hand! This dedicated group of prenatal professionals provides behind-the-scenes guidance for the Cradle Cincinnati Learning Collaborative, a network of more than 500 healthcare partners working to transform prenatal care across Hamilton County. With their direction, 2024 was the year of connecting and building relationships. We created more spaces for prenatal professionals to connect, learn from each other and solve shared challenges. This included a mixer in celebration of Black Maternal Health Week, bi-monthly webinars and our recent Safe Sleep Social. We are incredibly grateful for this group of individuals and everything they bring to the Cradle Cincinnati Learning Collaborative — we can’t wait to see how we grow in 2025. 📸: Captured at our end-of-year celebration
