Arabic, spoken by over 400 million people, plays a crucial role in education and cultural diversity. Through its rich history, Arabic has been a bridge for knowledge, connecting cultures and fostering learning across generations. For World Arabic Language Day, we asked our teams in Jordan and the West Bank to share a word in Arabic that answers the question: "What does education mean to you?" اللغة العربية، التي يتحدث بها اكثر من ٤٠٠ مليون شخص حول العالم، تلعب دوراً حاسماً في التعليم والتنوع الثقافي. من خلال تاريخها الغني تعتبر اللغة العربية جسراً للمعرفة حيث تربط بين الثقافات وتعزز التعلم عبر الأجيال. وبمناسبة اليوم العالمي للغة العربية طلبنا من فريقنا في الأردن والضفة الغربية أن يشاركونا كلمة باللغة العربية تجيب على سؤال "ماذا يعني التعليم لك؟"

Looking back on the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, we recognize the powerful work that USAID's Sembrando Esperanza is doing to combat GBV in Honduras. The program marked the 16 Days with an inauguration event joined by the Minister of Security and women's networks, where Sembrando Esperanza highlighted the crucial work of a hotline offering emergency care, legal advice and psychological counseling to women. Sembrando Esperanza has been working closely with the National Police to enhance service protocols and ensure effective responses. Together, we celebrate the progress made and remain committed to ending gender-based violence.

We are thrilled to announce that four of our short-form documentaries on public-private partnerships in West Africa have won big at the 2024 Viddy Awards! 🏆 1 Platinum Award 🥇 3 Gold Awards These videos, produced for USAID’s West Africa Trade & Investment Hub, showcase the incredible impact of the program across 17 countries. Engaging and partnering with the #privatesector to address many pressing challenges in their communities is critical to achieving our mutual goals. Today, I had the honor of introducing the CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, Scott Nathan, during the Council of International Development Companies 12th Annual Development Conference. The DFC supports private sector investment by offering loans, equity investments, political risk insurance and technical assistance to businesses. When goals are well aligned, we have seen this model work very well. During Creative’s implementation of USAID’s West Africa Trade & Investment Hub — which engaged the private sector to improve #foodsecurity, boost employment, reduce #poverty, address #climatechange and more — we leveraged four dollars from the private sector for every dollar invested by the U.S. government. By its end in September, the Trade Hub formed 93 co-investment partners, created 60,000+ jobs and grew exports by $258 million. #PSCdevelopment2024 Professional Services Council
