As cannabis (marijuana) becomes legal in more and more states, the confusion around testing for it grows. Let's clear it up (somewhat). A few states that have legalized cannabis either place limits on testing employees and applicants or protect employees from discrimination based on their legal drug use. However, most states still permit employers to test for cannabis use. Because the laws vary from state to state, and even municipalities within the same state, it adds to the burden of staying compliant.
