What separates a headhunter from a career matchmaker? It's really about the company’s or candidate’s primary goal. In this illustration, Jimmy Hamilton is the headhunter. Picture him in camo, on a high-stakes mission to track down top talent wherever it hides. For headhunters, it’s all about the thrill of the hunt and making that big placement. This approach focuses primarily on finding candidates who meet the technical requirements of the position. Then there’s Sarah Jordan, the career matchmaker. She’s more about connection than conquest. Think of her as the ultimate professional cupid, pairing candidates with companies that align on both values and vision. Her primary focus is the culture of the company and aligning potential candidates with the goals of both the business and the individual. The headhunter approach delivers results based on skill and qualifications. It’s a binary method that some companies need. Career matchmakers, however, perform the real magic. It’s not just about filling a role—it’s about creating partnerships that last. Which approach do you think builds stronger teams?

While you're away with family, resting and retreating, take a moment to reflect. This season offers us a chance to reset our minds and hearts, reminding us of the importance of pause amidst the busy rhythms of work and life. We know that sometimes the workplace can feel hard to enjoy, and every professional experiences moments of discouragement. Yet, it’s in these moments that we can take heart. Today, let's embrace rest, grace, and the opportunity to refocus and recenter. As we gather around the table this Thanksgiving, let’s carry with us a spirit of gratitude. Here’s a prayer inspired by Every Moment Holy: "May we find peace in the quiet moments, grace in our interactions, and strength in our community. Let our hearts be filled with gratitude for the blessings we often overlook." And as Psalm 92 reminds us, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High.” Wishing everyone a restful and reflective Thanksgiving! #Thanksgiving #Holidays #CrossResourceGroup #Recruiting

You might remember Jimmy from back in the day, riding around on his beach cruiser, always stopping to chat. He’s our CEO, and no matter where he is—especially in a crowd of Aggies—he’s making friends. Jimmy always finding a way to connect with people at the tailgates behind the George Bush Library. Doesn’t matter if you’re an Aggie or not—everyone’s welcome. You’ll never pass the Hamilton RV without a pause for conversation... and maybe a beer. “Anyone’s welcome at the tailgate—as long as they’re polite and nice.” – Jimmy Hamilton, Class of '90 #Networking #Aggies #SEC #CrossResourceGroup

Meet Joseph Hudgins! As our Recruiting Manager here at CRG, Joe is the driving force behind our recruiting team’s success. With a knack for training and leadership, he plays a central role in guiding our recruiters and ensuring they meet both quarterly and yearly goals. Joe brings over four years of recruiting experience to the table, backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His professional passion shines in his dedication to supporting his team and fostering strong client-candidate relationships. Our clients consistently commend Joe for his ability to connect with candidates, skillfully matching the right people with the right roles—quickly and efficiently. Outside of work, Joe’s focus shifts to his family. He and his wife share a lively home with their three kids: five-year-old twin boys and a fifteen-year-old daughter. Together, they cherish time spent at the beach or mountains, making the most of their summer vacations. Family Fridays are sacred, with movie nights that help everyone unwind after a busy week. Joe is also an avid college football fan (go Oregon Ducks!) and never passes up an opportunity to travel to Nashville, TN, or Asheville, NC, to spend quality time with loved ones. When he’s not cheering for his favorite team, you might find him in his backyard, perfecting his smoked meats—a talent that’s just as refined as his knack for finding the perfect candidate fit! Joe’s commitment to both family and career embodies the values we hold dear at CRG. We're grateful to have him leading our recruiting efforts, helping us—and our clients—find success at every step. #SupportAndGrowth #Hiring #Recruiting #CrossResourceGroup #StaffingFirm

Business owners, hiring the wrong person doesn’t just impact the individual role—it disrupts the entire team. When an employee doesn’t align with your mission, vision, or values, it creates a ripple effect that’s felt across the organization. Hiring right the first time isn’t just a smart choice; it’s essential for sustainable growth and a unified culture. Bad hires often happen when we don’t properly communicate our mission, vision, and values. Without a clear 3-5 year vision for the role and the growth opportunities ahead, candidates may struggle to see where they fit in the long term. When an employee doesn’t know how they can grow as the company grows, engagement and performance naturally falter. Here are a few signs to look for if you’re dealing with a hire who isn’t a good fit: - Low Engagement: When employees aren’t inspired by your mission, their enthusiasm fades. You may notice minimal effort or participation, slowing team momentum. - Poor Accountability: Unaligned hires often miss deadlines or fail to meet expectations, leaving other team members to pick up the slack. - Reduced Morale: A disconnect in values is noticeable to everyone, often leading to frustration and a dip in team spirit. “No one wants to be on a bus with no wheels—without a mission or vision, no one is going to get on board.” - Sarah Jordan Set your team up for success by prioritizing clear expectations, strong values, and a well-defined hiring process that builds trust from day one. #RightHire #TeamCulture #CrossResourceGroup #BusinessGrowth #AlignedTalent

Business owners, have you ever noticed how many job postings fall flat? A lack of professionalism is a terrible reason to miss out on great talent. Ensure your job titles are clear, your descriptions concise, and that you focus on essential responsibilities. Here are some key elements to consider: - Articulate Your Mission and Values: Connect with candidates who resonate with your vision. - Optimize for Searchability: Make it easier for the right talent to find you. - Outline a Strategic 3-5 Year Plan: Share your vision for the role's future. - Highlight Growth Opportunities: Let candidates know how they can evolve with your company. A great job post isn’t just a task—it’s an advertisement for your company. Invest the time to craft it thoughtfully, and you’ll attract candidates who align with your values and qualifications. #Development #Recruiting #CrossResourceGroup #StaffingFirm #RelationalSolutions #Insights

We challenge you to a word search! Like most teams, at CRG we have internal lingo that we use every day! Our lexicon is to the point that an unseasoned team member, or client, might find themselves lost in conversation if we aren't diligent in explaining and defining our terms. To game-ify the process, we gathered 10 of our favorite short-hand terms and turned it into a word search! We know you're not going to print this out and solve it with your morning cup of coffee–but we hope you find a few words! Our challenge for you is to set a 3-minute timer and see how many of our words you can find. Let us know how many you found in the comments! #CRG #RelationalSolutions #WordSearch #CrossResourceGroup
