In STEM fields, women make up one-third of students but face overwhelming barriers to thriving in the workforce. The result? In Europe, only 1 in 7 patents is filed by a woman. The numbers are not any better in Canada. Workplace culture often drives talented women out of STEM careers. Yet, what if funding innovation outside corporate constraints could help women realize their full creative potential? Explore the solutions and how you can support change in this article: https://lnkd.in/gjvAY6Vp in being part of the change? Why are women filing only 1 patent for every 7 filed by men? Despite representing one-third of STEM students, workplace challenges—including pay gaps, harassment, and toxic cultures—force many women out of their fields. The result? A massive gender gap in innovation that is estimated to take a century to close. This article dives into the why—and more importantly, the how—we can create space for women inventors to thrive. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gcTGUM3T Our good friends at the Canadian Women's Chamber of Commerce (CanWCC) get feedback from its 1000+ members and use this to make policy recommendations to the federal government that help break down the barriers women face. For the first time, women in senior VC investment roles in Canada are earning higher average salaries than their male counterparts. But the glass ceiling hasn’t shattered yet and here's why. ⬇️ 🚨 Half of VC firms still have no women senior investors. 🚨 Women face lower bonuses and inadequate family leave policies. 🚨 Representation remains scarce at the top, with many women walking out. Progress is happening, but there’s still a long way to go to close the gap and build a truly equitable VC ecosystem. 💡 Read on here and share your thoughts below: https://lnkd.in/eJgXFcKq #VentureCapital #VC #WomenInVC #CanadianBusiness #WomenInBusiness
Women VCs are now earning more at the highest levels (if they can reach them)
