Meet Laurie Bourgeois Salvail, PhD, Executive Director of CYBER.ORG. With a bachelors in business management, masters in educational leadership and PhD in curriculum instruction, Laurie has been with the Cyber Innovation Center since 2019 serving as a curriculum developer and Director of Curriculum. In 2022 she became the Executive Director for CYBER.ORG. When we asked her why digital literacy in K-12 education is so important, she said, "Today's digital landscape is undeniably an integral part of our lives, and its influence continues to grow. From the ways we communicate to how we work, learn, and solve problems, digital tools and platforms are transforming the world around us every day. By promoting digital literacy among our students, we teach them how to use technology effectively while navigating the digital world safely and responsibly."
