DEC has secured an indefinite deliverable, $2 million utility engineering contract with the Texas Department of Transportation El Paso District. In a selection process involving 18 firms competing for two $2 million contracts, DEC emerged as the second-ranked contender. Acting as the prime contractor, DEC and its four sub-contractors will provide full-spectrum utility engineering services ranging from subsurface utility engineering and utility adjustment coordination to construction phase services. Project work is expected to be primarily in the El Paso District with potential expansion into other districts. Michael Kaspar, PE, LGPP, will be project manager, with Jose Reyes, PE, LGPP, serving as deputy project manager. #DEC_EngineeringExcellence #TxDOT #ElPaso

DEC is proud to lead the construction phase of the West Harris County Regional Water Authority (WHCRWA) Surface Water Supply Project, which includes 10 miles of tunnels and two major pump station facilities. #DEC_EngineeringExcellence #water
The Surface Water Supply Project - Segment B3 "Long Tunnel" Project in Houston, Texas holed through this week. The team mastered the Houston ground conditions with a vintage Lovat TBM, Suzzann that was refurbished at Jay Dee's Livonia, MI shop in 2022 and completed 22,000 feet of tunnel excavation. Completion of this tunnel will bring drinking water across the city. Congratulations to the Jay Dee and Harper Brothers Trenchless Project Team. We have enjoyed working with the West Harris County Regional Water Authority, North Fort Bend Water Authority, DEC, and Black and Veatch on this project. #tunneling #cleanwater
