Notably, AI Proteins and Bristol Myers Squibb announced a $400M collaboration focusing on miniproteins, signaling increasing industry confidence in AI-driven approaches. 2. December was an exciting month for the next-generation therapeutics field. In the Cell Therapy space, Altaris, LLC announced their acquisition of WuXi AppTec's U.S. and U.K.-based cell therapy manufacturing business and Bristol Myers Squibb announced cancellations of their partnerships with Century Therapeutics, Inc and Immatics. There were also a handful of clinical trial updates, with Arcellx reporting positive iMMagine-1 data for their multiple myeloma treatment and Gilead Sciences reporting follow-up data for Tecartus at ASH. Multiple clinical trial updates were announced in the Gene Therapy space in December, with Capsida Biotherapeutics releasing preclinical data for an epilepsy candidate, HuidaGene Therapeutics dosing their first patient in a MECP2 Duplication Syndrome trial, SpliceBio announcing IND clearance for their Phase ½ ASTRA study, and Atsena Therapeutics announcing the completion of dosing in Part A of their Phase 1/2 LIGHTHOUSE study. In the Oligo space, Silexion Therapeutics Corp and Evonik announced a collaboration for advanced siRNA formulation. In addition, a number of clinical trial updates were announced, including #SiriusTherapeutics’ announcement of promising preliminary data of a Phase 1 trial with SRSD107, Silence Therapeutics plc’s announcement of efficacy data in the Phase 1 SANRECO study, and Ractigen Therapeutics’s successful first patient dosing in a Phase 1 trial of RAG-17. In the ADC space, Gilead and Tubulis GmbH announced a partnership to develop ADCs targeting solid tumors, while Elevation Oncology partnered with Lonza’s Synaffix BV to develop a HER3-directed ADC. Daiichi Sankyo US also announced their $152M investment in a manufacturing plant in China and Aadi Bioscience, Inc pivoted from a commercial-stage company to a preclinical biotech.
