As we prepare to say goodbye to Christian Olivar, one of our interns in our Waltham office, we reflect on the great impact he’s had during his time with us at Delphi Construction. Christian, a Mechanical Engineering student at Wentworth Institute of Technology, shared that his internship changed his perception of the construction industry, revealing just how much goes on behind the scenes. According to Christian, his favorite part of the experience was getting hands-on in the field, learning about the intricate sequencing of trade work. As he wraps up his co-op, we’re grateful for his contributions and excited to see where his career takes him. Progress continues at Province Post as we move forward with bringing 65 new apartments to life across four buildings. The team is doing an excellent job keeping the construction sequence on track, with key milestones being met each week. Building C is progressing smoothly, with foundations poured and vapor barrier completed, with Buildings A, B & D following closely behind.  In the coming weeks, we’ll see even bigger changes as we get ready for wall layout and framing of the first floor begins. We recently got to celebrate the official opening of the Latham Centers – Anne McManus Campus Center in Brewster! The ribbon-cutting event marked the completion of this adaptive reuse project, transforming an existing building into an educational space for individuals with complex disabilities. The new Campus Center will provide enhanced classrooms, multi-purpose areas, and recreational spaces, all designed to foster learning, growth, and community engagement. A big thank you to Latham Centers, Bruce Ronayne Hamilton Architects, Design Day Mechanicals, TF Moran, and everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality! Recently, the Delphi team participated in the "Building Code Update & Energy Code Changes Program" led by Mike Yanovitch from Mass Construction. This informative session provided valuable insights into the upcoming 10th Edition of the Massachusetts Building Code and the various levels of the Energy Code in MA. The program covered significant building code updates, including enhancements in atriums, smoke control, mass timber usage, standards for occupied roofs, energy storage, and mechanical parking garages. Additionally, it addressed energy code changes encompassing the Base Code, Stretch Code, Specialized Code, and above stretch code requirements. We also explored local ordinances such as BERDO and discussed which codes apply to different types of construction. This knowledge is particularly relevant to our work in multifamily, healthcare, municipal, and education projects, encompassing ground-up construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse. By integrating these updates, we continue to deliver projects that meet our clients' needs through a process that exceeds their expectations.
