This Saturday, March 8th, we celebrate International Women’s Day, a time to reflect, take action, and champion progress toward gender equity.   We spoke with Senior Account Executive, Shandana Ali Khan, about what this day means to her and the role we all play in driving meaningful change:   "Hi everyone! I’m Shandana Khan, Senior Account Executive, here to wish you a Happy International Women’s Day (IWD)!   This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” reminds us all that we play a role in making the world more equitable for women. Transforming the lives of women means that we shape health interventions with women in mind, amplifying our voices and lived experiences; challenging society to do better to ensure that women of all races and backgrounds are seen and heard.   Studies show that 10% of women with health concerns don’t seek help, often due to stigma or fear. On this IWD, let’s encourage all women to speak up about their health, seek support, and know that their voices matter.   At Lucid, conscious inclusion is about every action we take for positive change. I’m proud to work for an organisation where everyone is empowered to succeed, collaborating together to be a force for good in the world.   IWD is more than just a date - it’s about year-round transformation and our work is far from done.   So, let’s accelerate progress, shine our light and work toward a world where every woman’s success is celebrated.   Happy International Women’s Day!"   #InternationalWomensDay #AccelerateAction #IWD2025

Part of Lucid's commitment to transforming the lives of patients includes supporting the rare disease community in leading healthier lives. Rare Disease Day provides us with a moment of reflection to raise awareness of rare diseases, fostering a cultural conversation about how we can work to improve access to treatment and medical representation for individuals with rare diseases and their families. Over the past 5 years, we at Lucid have worked across 40 rare indications. Lucid has helped shape the landscape for rare disease education globally, reaching an extensive range of healthcare professionals. Check out the attached carousel for more information on rare diseases and the impact we've had in the rare disease space. If you’re looking for a partner to bring life-changing treatments to the rare disease community, please get in touch via wearelucidgroup.com. #RareDiseaseDay #TransformingLives

As we celebrate Black History Month (BHM) across the month of February, Jessica Howard reflects on what BHM means to her: "Black History is a time to honor the resilience, contributions, and visionary leadership of Black trailblazers who have reshaped our society. One such leader is Dorothy Vaughan, a distinguished mathematician and computer programmer whose work at NASA transformed aerospace computing. Vaughan’s expertise and forward-thinking leadership during the transition from human to digital computation played a pivotal role in advancing space exploration and technological innovation. Despite facing systemic barriers, her determination and skill set not only broke new ground in STEM but also paved the way for future generations of underrepresented talent. For me, Black History is about recognizing these monumental achievements, amplifying overlooked voices, and fostering a future where opportunity and inclusion drive progress." #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM #BlackTrailblazers #DorothyVaughan

Turning 18 is often seen as a milestone of adulthood – a time when potential meets purpose. For businesses, it’s not just about age, it’s a period of time when ambition sharpens, identity cements, and foundations for the future are tested and strengthened. At Lucid, reaching this milestone isn’t just a celebration of longevity, it’s a testament to growth; maturity doesn’t mean settling – it means leaning into curiosity with the wisdom of experience. Our founder, Dennis O'Brien, and CEO, Rick Sannem, agree with this, having between them shaped two exciting businesses into the one fully fledged adult it is today (although Rick will tell you that DiD is 2 years older, it is not a competition you two). Dennis O'Brien reflects on the progress to adulthood: “At last, Lucid is now an adult! From the early days of celebrating receiving an email from a client and racing to answer the phone, we created a client-centric industry-leading organisation. Our team has undertaken amazing work for some of the most ambitious brands. We’ve grown, we’ve broadened our capabilities through recruitment and mergers, and we’ve established ourselves as a leader in healthcare communications. I am so proud of what we’ve achieved, the mark we’ve made on the world and how we’ve transformed lives, while reinforcing our commitment to be a compassionately human place to work. Lucid has made a huge difference to people – clients, patients, consumers, healthcare professionals and everyone who has worked here; I’d like to think that most people would consider Lucid as a career-defining organisation and that’s a legacy I’m truly proud of. Happy Birthday to you all. And thanks for everything you’ve done to get us here.” As we step into this next chapter, we’re not just looking back with pride – we’re looking forward with intent. The coming months will see us embracing bold ideas, new collaborations and transformative projects. Rick Sannem adds: "I am proud to build on our legacy – partnering with more clients, evolving our capabilities, and offering career-defining opportunities to our people. While we are undoubtedly a bigger organisation, we can operate with the same agility and focus on impact set out by our younger, smaller selves.” Here’s to the next phase of Lucid’s journey – one where maturity fuels momentum, and our best work is still ahead. #18Birthday #Bday #Growth #BestYetToCome

  • Lucid Spirit means supporting causes that matter to our people and community. Following the tragic airplane crash in Northeast Philadelphia on Jan 31, we have donated $1,000 to the One Philly Fund. The One Philly Fund was created to directly support victims of disasters that occur in Philadelphia, a city that is close to our hearts and home to our US office. Victims impacted by the crash will be able to submit a request to receive support from this fund.  Click the link below to donate today.  #LucidSpirit https://lnkd.in/eWAMSMJ9

As we celebrate Black History Month (BHM) across the month of February, Damone Pierre reflects on what BHM means to him: "Black History Month is a time to honor the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It’s a moment to reflect on the struggles and triumphs that have shaped our world while recognizing the ongoing journey toward equality and justice.   For me, it’s not just about looking back—it’s about learning, acknowledging, and carrying forward the lessons of the past. It’s an opportunity to celebrate culture, amplify voices that have long been silenced, and embrace the rich history that continues to inspire progress today.   One example of such inspiration is Dr. Charles R. Drew, a pioneering African American physician, surgeon, and medical researcher. Often called the “father of blood banking,” Dr. Drew revolutionized modern medicine through his groundbreaking research on blood preservation and plasma storage. His work during World War II helped establish large-scale blood banks, saving countless lives on the battlefield and beyond. He also became the first director of the American Red Cross Blood Bank.   Despite his remarkable contributions, Dr. Drew faced racial discrimination throughout his career. He challenged segregation in medicine and fought for equal opportunities for Black doctors and medical students. His legacy continues to impact healthcare today, reminding us of the importance of perseverance, innovation, and equity in medicine.   Black History Month is a reminder that history is still being made, and each of us has a role in fostering a more inclusive and equitable future. By honoring figures like Dr. Charles Drew, we not only celebrate the past but also inspire future generations to push boundaries, break barriers, and create lasting change." #BlackHistoryMonth #DrCharlesRDrew

  • As we step into 2025, we are excited to share a pivotal evolution in our organizational structure. DiD will now be organized into two distinct divisions: Life Sciences and Consumer Health. This strategic shift is complemented by the promotion of Cailine Petzold and Arriel Mecca, who reflect on what this transformation means for the future of DiD. Cailine Petzold: “By evolving our structure, we are better positioned to support the unique needs of our clients, while enhancing category expertise and collaboration efficiency.
