Active Math. Active Learning.

About us

We’re all about math and all about making math teaching and learning more concrete, more active, and more effective. We’re the source that thousands of educators trust for manipulatives and supplemental curriculum resources that make math easier to teach and way more fun to learn! Many of our flagship products, like Unifix® Cubes and Didax Math kits, have helped learners master essential number and computational concepts. And as our product lineup grows, we’re adding ingenious hands-on and digital manipulatives to help students master basic through advanced math operations, facts, and critical thinking skills. Our solutions are educator-developed, classroom-tested, and always trusted for efficacy, durability, and authentic learning value. For more than 45 years, we’ve created products and resources that build math success and confidence. Our name, Didax, came from the Greek word didaktikos, meaning ability to teach. And that’s exactly what we do…we create the products that give teachers the ability to teach math successfully to every learner.

Introducing integers and operations with positive and negative numbers can be challenging... However, students can build a solid understanding and confidence with the right instructional strategies and hands-on manipulatives.   At Didax, we firmly believe that math concepts—no matter how complex—become accessible through active, engaging tools. Our integer products are designed to support educators in fostering meaningful learning experiences in the classroom.   These products make learning the concept of integers both approachable and effective for all students: Integer Beaded Number Line - https://lnkd.in/e44ART2z Integer Cards - https://lnkd.in/ezmB_F3t Integer Operations Activity Set - https://lnkd.in/egFhvTTc #Didax #ActiveMathActiveLearning #Students #Mathematics #Integers #Manipulatives #Learning

In the third step of my data protocol, students are asked "Now What?". The answer may include a decision, action, more questions, or collecting their own related data. They can represent their data with hands-on materials such as a magnetic whiteboard grid and magnetic manipulatives. Then they can do a new, highly relevant Data Discussion. Not to mention, compare and contrast the effectiveness of the visualizations! Graph credit to the amazing Jenna Laib [more slow reveal graphs at slowrevealgraphs.com]. These really enhance reasoning and discourse during the notice/wonder part! The Mathematics Teacher Educator (MTE) journal is seeking manuscripts for publication in 2025 that describe how #mathematics teacher educators prepare #teachers to honor and build upon K-12 students’ strengths and funds of knowledge. Authors are invited to share the ways they support teachers to engage learners who have been traditionally marginalized in mathematics and related disciplines, with specific attention to students with disabilities, immigrant-origin students, and/or students of color. Abstracts must be submitted by October 15. Learn more here: nctm.link/QvdL1 #callformanuscripts #math #maths #mathjournal #mathteacher #teachereducator #iteachmath
