  • 📣 As we close out this year, the fight for human rights and healthcare is more urgent than ever. With the new Trump administration poised to roll back protections and restrict access to healthcare—including abortion services—our work at Doctors of the World has never been more critical. From delivering life-saving care in conflict zones to supporting asylum seekers at the U.S.-Mexico border, we stand with those most in need, ensuring healthcare remains a right, not a privilege. Cuts to humanitarian aid threaten vaccines, maternal care, disaster relief, and refugee services—putting millions of lives at risk. But together, we can fight back. • In less than three month's time, the Trump-Vance administration will take office, and with #Project2025 as its policy blueprint, the effects on the people and issues we support and champion both here and around the world will be devastating and far-reaching. There is no other way to describe it. Women's access to safe and legal #abortion in the US, the rights of asylum seekers and the access to health that we provide at the southern border, people trapped in conflict in the middle east, #Ukraine and elsewhere, are all under dire threat. At Doctors of the World, we can promise you that we will always remain true to our core values and principles, and that we will fight for these and the people we serve no matter how bad the political and policy climate may be. Our strength is in our solidarity, and now more than ever we must stand together to care for and support each other, and for the most vulnerable among us. Our path is and has always been the morally correct one. When we look back on the era we are about to enter, we know we will stand on the right side of history. Join us: https://lnkd.in/ehiQkueU

  • 🔴 It’s been 1 year of devastating violence in Palestine. 🚑 Throughout this conflict, our teams have been tirelessly mobilizing to provide essential primary and mental health care to those affected. They work under extreme conditions, facing the same dangers as the people they’re helping — bombings, shortages of water and food, and the constant fear of losing loved ones. ❌ The challenges are immense, but our commitment remains unwavering. ✊ We continue to call on states and decision-makers to prioritize humanity and demand an immediate ceasefire. • On #SafeAbortionDay, we reaffirm our commitment to defending women's rights and access to safe, legal abortions. As we approach the upcoming U.S. elections, the future of reproductive rights hangs in the balance. Abortion is on the ballot, and the potential risks are alarming. One of the most significant threats comes from #Project2025, which aims to restrict access not only to abortion services but also to critical sexual and reproductive healthcare. If enacted, this plan could reverse years of progress, disproportionately impacting marginalized communities, limiting access to contraceptives, family planning, and life-saving health services. Restricting access to abortion and comprehensive care will result in unsafe procedures, preventable maternal deaths, and worsen health outcomes for women across the country. The risk is real. Women’s health, autonomy, and futures are on the line. This election is crucial—your vote can help protect access to safe, legal abortions and uphold human rights. 🗳️ Go out and vote to safeguard reproductive rights! #ReproductiveJustice #WomensHealth #Vote2024 #SafeAbortionDay Learn more about Project 2025 👉 https://lnkd.in/ebK4s6dk

  • Our International Network has called for a humanitarian pause to allow mass vaccinations against polio in #Gaza. We believe that measles remains a greater threat and are urging the World Health Organization (WHO) to also plan for vaccinations against measles, our Board member Dr. Ron Waldman has co-authored this important piece for STAT News. https://lnkd.in/e2m5z9P7

  • 🚨 **The future of immigration in the U.S. is at risk** 🚨 Project 2025 poses a significant threat to the rights and dignity of immigrants, impacting not just individuals, but entire communities. If implemented, these policies could severely restrict legal immigration, increase deportations, and block pathways for asylum seekers—tearing families apart and shutting the door to those seeking safety and opportunity. Immigrants have long been the backbone of innovation, diversity, and economic growth in our nation. Now, more than ever, we must unite against this harmful agenda that undermines the very principles of justice and equality. This is a pivotal moment for our country. Your vote can make a difference in protecting human rights and ensuring that the U.S. remains a beacon of hope for all. 🗳️ **Make your voice heard—Vote to safeguard fair immigration policies and stand for dignity and justice!** #ProtectImmigrants #HumanRights #Vote2024 #ImmigrationMatters Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gABc4PJi
