For some domestic violence survivors, those closest to them—like family and friends—can provide the support they need. But that’s not the case for all survivors. Sometimes an abuser will isolate their partner from his or her close friends and family as a means of maintaining control. Sometimes friends and family don’t believe that the abuse is occurring, or they stop supporting a survivor that has left and returned multiple times as part of their escape process. And sometimes, family and friends just don’t understand the dynamics of domestic abuse, or how to respond supportively. Read more: https://buff.ly/2yCm4vS #DomesticViolence #Abuse #DomesticAbuse

DomesticShelters.org will soon roll out its latest helper, appropriately named Hope. Available 24/7/365, Hope is an AI (artificial intelligence) assistant that can quickly and intuitively help visitors to the site find the information they need. Rest assured, we are not being taken over by robots. Our 1,200-plus pieces of content are all one hundred percent human-written. The individuals answering your emails are real. However, we know that survivors, advocates and allies alike who come to DomesticShelters.org may not always want to talk to a human. And with so much content, it might be hard to find exactly what you’re looking for." https://buff.ly/41YhH9J #DomesticViolence #Abuse #DomesticAbuse

A fitting challenge to all of us as we honor the life of former President Jimmy Carter, reflect on 2024, and aspire to make a difference in the world in 2025. “We must carry on the message and voice of Jimmy Carter for as long we have breath. And we must implement sound, evidence-based interventions that reduce and address the abuse of women, girls, boys, and men.” — Casey Gwinn. “The mistreatment and abuse of women and girls is the greatest human rights issue in the world. The most powerful indictment by the former President, after citing the litany of human rights abuses toward women and girls? ‘And men don’t give a damn.’ And we must respond with every ounce of our energy.” — Gael Strack. It is our calling at Alliance for HOPE International.

I really couldn’t think at all.” “I would look in the mirror and feel like I wasn’t there.” The above quotes from survivors of domestic abuse show the effects of mind control, also known as brainwashing.
