Fire Door Safety Week is an important event for all those involved in the housebuilding industry but raising awareness of fire door safety must continue all year round. Together, we can make our buildings safer and protect lives. KEEP DOORS CLOSED Make sure fire doors are not wedged open. A fire door must have the ability to close to enable it to do its job. EXECUTE REGULAR CHECKS Take the time to inspect fire doors for any signs of wear, damage or misalignment. Check that they close properly and latch securely. REPORT ISSUES If you notice any ill-fitting fire doors or damage, report it immediately to the relevant authorities or your building manager. SPREAD AWARENESS Encourage your colleagues, friends, and family to be proactive about fire door safety. Share information and resources that highlight the importance of well-maintained fire doors. We understand that safety is your priority. With our experience and expertise, we're here to help you find the right fire doors to safeguard your home or business and everyone in it. Fire safety doors are crucial in slowing down the spread of fire through a building. They serve as a protective barrier, offering essential time for people to evacuate or be rescued. They are also a regulatory necessity for many types of buildings. Ultimately, the right fire door doesn't just protect property - it can save lives. #FDSW24 #FireSafety #FireProtection

From manufacturers to building occupants, everyone has a role in ensuring a fire door functions properly in a fire emergency. Knowing the signs of a problem and how to address them can be lifesaving. Routine wear and tear can reduce the effectiveness of even certified doors, so it’s crucial to verify that your fire doors are as secure as they appear. Here are 5 things to check when buying – or maintaining – fire doors. CERTIFICATION - Is it fully certified to provide the best protection? APERTURES - Are the apertures a weak spot compromising performance? FITTING - Does it fit properly stopping smoke spreading? CLOSERS - Is the closer doing its job correctly? OPERATION - Does the door shut completely? Delve deeper into each of these considerations here: https://lnkd.in/eUAQPv79 #FDSW24 #FireSafety #RecogniseItReportIt
