We save & heal lives through organ & tissue donation for transplantation and research in Northern CA and Northern NV.
About us
Donor Network West is a federally designated nonprofit, 501(c)3, organ procurement and tissue recovery organization (OPO) with headquarters in Northern California and Northern Nevada. Established in 1987, we serve more than 13 million people and connect a donor’s gift to those in need in 45 counties in Northern California and Northern Nevada. Organ, eye, and tissue donation offers the hope to heal. The generous decisions of donors and their families allow us to recover and allocate organs and tissues for transplantation and research. We are able to carry out our mission of saving and healing lives thanks to our partnership with 175 hospitals, doctors, nurses, more than 500 funeral homes and 44 coroners and medical examiners. Donor Network West is proud to be a Donate Life organization and an accredited member of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). We are additionally members of Donate Life California and Donate Life Nevada. Donor Network West and the Reno Aces had the privilege of sending off Blake Lalli and Aleah Hartung to the Rose Parade at Greater Nevada Field. Blake will be honored as a walker & Aleah as a rider on this year's Donate Life Float! Aleah Hartung, an Aesthetics Physician Assistant based in Reno, Nevada, and a two-time kidney transplant recipient, has shown incredible strength in the face of significant health challenges. Diagnosed with underdeveloped kidneys at the age of 18, Aleah received her first life-saving kidney transplant in 2008, donated by her mother, Sandy. After years of stable health, her condition began to decline in 2023, needing another kidney to survive. In a truly selfless act, her boyfriend, Reno Aces Manager Blake Lalli, stepped forward to test as her donor and was found to be a perfect match. Now thriving post-surgery, Aleah is a passionate advocate for organ donation, highlighting the life-saving impact of donors and those in need. Her story is a testament to resilience, love, and the profound importance of organ donation in saving lives. Blake Lalli, the manager of the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and a former Major League Baseball catcher has a journey marked by athletic achievement and profound personal sacrifice. In March of 2024, during Spring Training, he made a selfless act that forever changed his girlfriend, Aleah Hartung's life. Driven by Aleah's urgent need for a kidney transplant due to declining kidney function, Blake's unwavering commitment to her health allowed Aleah to regain her quality of life. This act of love and sacrifice raised awareness about the importance of organ donation and empowered many to consider becoming donors. His advocacy and dedication, both on and off the field, continue to inspire as he leads the Aces with the same passion he brings to his personal life. #MyDNWest #DonateLife #DoneVida #DonorNetworkWest #RoseParade #RenoAces
