For over 30 years, Todd Bozcek has worked to build community with his colleagues while supporting them and our mission each day. His commitment to relationship management has extended beyond the Mid-America Transplant team to key partners both near and far. Many hospital quality directors know him by name and speak of him fondly. As colleagues retire, they take with them a profound understanding of processes and unique perspectives that come with decades of experience. In recent months, Todd has devoted himself to working closely with the team to ensure a seamless transition of duties. In recognition of this dedication to our mission, Todd was presented with a Mid-America Transplant Challenge Coin. The new art installation in our main lobby reminds us of the connection to those who received a lifesaving and life-healing transplant while honoring our donors. It features a clear case filled with orbs, each color representing a donor hero for their gift of organs, tissues, and/or ocular tissue. The case includes a heart symbolizing the act of giving and 360-degree rays representing the lives touched by organ, eye, and tissue donation. Throughout the year this case will be filled with additional orbs to serve as a visual reminder of each individual and family who selflessly said yes to saving and healing the lives of those waiting. Through the generosity of organ, eye, and tissue donor heroes, our work lives on. #SayYesGiveLife #OurWorkLivesOn #ArtInstallation

Congratulations to Katie Gunning on the completion of her capstone for this year's Art and Science of Leadership program. Her project "Enhancing Transportation" focused on current challenges and potential future opportunities in donor transportation. We are excited to see her continual growth as a leader in tissue donation. Additionally, thank you to our President & CEO Kevin Lee for providing mentorship to these participants on their learning journey.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 of "The Art and Science of Leadership: Driving Results for Donation and Transplantation Professionals." After six months of hard work, participants shared their Capstone presentations with their colleagues and coaches at Gift of Life Institute in Philadelphia. The class of 23 learners took their leadership skills to the next level by completing this certificate program that combines deep industry knowledge from leaders in the field along with academic expertise from the Aresty Institute of Executive Education (Wharton Executive Education) at the University of Pennsylvania and Fox School of Business at Temple University.
