Our final new Board member to introduce is Andrew Sandage! Andy is a CPA in the State of Colorado and a Partner and CFO at Red Dice Investments, a venture-stage advisory and capital firm, as well as the Founder of Sandage Consulting LLC, an accounting and finance consulting firm. With a 25-year career spanning Deloitte, oil and gas companies, consulting firms, startups, private equity-backed businesses, and public companies, he brings deep financial and strategic expertise to his work. He earned his accounting degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Born in Omaha, Nebraska (Go Big Red!), Andy has called the Denver area home for over 40 years; Andy fondly remembers the library as a quiet refuge where his mother studied for the CPA exam, and he was left to explore all the library had to offer. Now, as a trustee of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, he is passionate about ensuring the library continues to be a valuable resource for the community. He lives in Lowry with his wife, Shauna, their daughter, Charlotte, and their dog, Herkimer. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, exploring new restaurants, and staying young keeping up with his daughter. Welcome to the board Andy!

About us
The Denver Public Library Friends Foundation raises funds and provides advocacy for the Denver Public Library. We support programming for children, adults, immigrants, refugees and our most vulnerable community members. After school programs, summer enrichment and technology education are all a part of the work we support at Denver Public Library. We also help with renovations at our many branches, as well as collection development in the world renowned Western History and Genealogy Department.

Introducing our next addition to the Board of Trustees, Hillary Cimock! Hillary is a partner in KPMG’s Deal Advisory & Strategy practice, specializing in accounting and financial reporting for complex transactions with a focus on the healthcare and life science industry. Her expertise is in technical accounting, capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and disposals. She also has extensive knowledge of the issues healthcare and life sciences companies face, bringing pragmatic solutions to her clients. Hillary enjoys having the ability to guide and support her clients through various challenges and opportunities. A Colorado native, Hillary graduated with a Masters of Science, Business Administration - Accounting from Colorado State University. She lives in northwest Denver with her husband, Shawn, and two dogs, Ralph and Daryl. In Denver, you will find them practicing yoga, enjoying the great restaurants, frequenting the library, and attending shows at the Denver Performing Arts Center. When they are not in the city, you can find them in Summit County skiing, hiking, paddleboarding, and cycling. Hillary has a strong passion for learning. Some of her earliest childhood memories are going to the library with her mom to check out new books each week. The library has always been an important part of her life, and she is honored to be on the Board of the DPLFF as an opportunity to support the library.

Our 2025 Board of Trustees' new member spotlights continue! Next up is Colleen Morey! Colleen is an adept legal leader experienced in navigating multi-faceted, contentious issues. She's a negotiator and facilitator skilled at balancing public policy, private enterprise, and constituent concerns. Colleen is a connector able to communicate effectively at all levels of government, as well as with private leaders and citizens. Colleen has been a consummate public servant working at all levels of government, currently serving as Deputy Legal Counsel to Governor Jared Polis. Prior to her time at the Governor's Office, Colleen served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Colorado Department of Law focused on regulation and public safety. Colleen was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended Loyola University Chicago and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in journalism. Loving Loyola as much as she did, she stayed to attend the School of Law and graduated in 2008 with a certificate in Trial Advocacy. Colleen is married with two young human children and one Old English Sheepdog child, Phyllis. As an avid runner, Colleen can be found in the early morning trotting along Denver’s northside trying to avoid uneven sidewalks, mostly with success. Welcome to the board Colleen!

Our City Librarian and Executive Director, Michelle Jeske, has announced her departure from DPL. She said, "After 23 years of service, I have decided to step away from my role as City Librarian to embrace my ‘jubilation’ at the end of April 2025." We are deeply grateful for Michelle's remarkable leadership. The Library Commission is actively searching to appoint her successor. The Friends Foundation is thrilled to welcome four new members to our Board of Trustees for 2025. They each bring tremendous experience in community engagement, professional leadership, and philanthropic support. Our first spotlight is Katie Payer. Katie is a big picture thinker and detailed do-er with extensive experience developing engaging programs, building content, and designing events in an innovative environment. She owns Katie Payer Consulting, which provides clients with focused and high-quality strategy and execution in creating connective, thoughtful, and impactful programs to bring together mission-minded communities. She is a founding Influencer for KIN Women, was recently the Chair of the Board of Directors for YouthRoots, and is an alumna of both Leadership Denver and Impact Denver via the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Katie is delighted to be joining the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation board after serving on the advocacy committee the past year. Katie graduated from Santa Clara University with degrees in marketing and communication. She resides in Denver, Colorado with her husband, daughter, and son. Her favorite activities include voraciously reading, hiking in the Colorado mountains, building Legos with her children, and chasing more passport stamps via exciting travel. Welcome Katie!
