Just read 'Belonging: Bridging Beyond Othering' by john a. powell. It shares some of the key concepts and frameworks guiding the work behind the Belonging Colorado project. Great piece to read if you're looking to learn more about the belonging work happening in Colorado. https://lnkd.in/gFdY4d2G

Taking care of the future since 1925.
About us
The mission of The Denver Foundation is to inspire people and mobilize resources to strengthen our community. The Denver Foundation is the product of 90 years of generous donors, hard working volunteers, and visionary grantees. In November 1925, community leaders came together to create an endowment to serve the future needs of Metro Denver. They recognized that community needs are always changing, and they wanted to give succeeding generations some resources to help meet future needs. Today it manages assets of more than $800 million; received $ 67 million in gifts last year (2015 not audited); and holds more than 1000 funds to date.

Our Finance, Infrastructure, & Technology team visited Volunteers of America Colorado to make hygiene kits and no-sew blankets for veterans facing homelessness. It was inspiring to learn more about their work, and we look forward to returning as volunteers with family and friends.

Looking for a way to empower employees and have them lead your corporate giving? Limelight Hotels are known for their iconic adventure destinations, but their key distinction lies in their commitment to local communities. When Limelight Denver opened, it was committed to continuing Limelight's employee-led giving program. To understand the city’s unique needs and establish a connection to Denver’s network of local causes, Limelight Denver turned to The Denver Foundation, a key partner in figuring out where they could make the most impact. Read more about this partnership and how it has helped both their employees and the local community. https://lnkd.in/geS2fDg9

The inaugural Belonging Colorado cohort came together to connect, share insights, and conclude their training. Over the past eight weeks, participants have been learning more about the science and practice of bridging differences, led by The Greater Good Science Center (GGSC). We're excited as they get ready to launch their projects, and how they will bring people together across lines of difference across Colorado.
