Reflecting on Enlit 2023 and Next-generation smart grid... Participating in Enlit 2023 was an enlightening experience, demonstrating the collective effort toward a sustainable energy future, a theme that resonates with the COP28 in Dubai. This event, like COP28, underscores the global commitment to climate action and energy transition. These gatherings continue to shape my understanding and approach to energy challenges. In this context, It appears to me that initiatives such as E4S are particularly relevant. E4S focuses on revolutionizing secondary substations through Edge computing and virtualization technologies. With the electrification of transportation, the need for energy storage, and the integration of renewables at the grid's edge, the development of an adaptive, smart grid control is essential. The E4S consortium, as part of the broader Edge for Smart Secondary Substations, an early stage project, is pivotal in accelerating the creation of standards-based, flexible, secure and interoperable platforms for this purpose in the long run. #EnergyTransition #NextGenSmartgrid
