Let’s WRAP up our week celebrating the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and its 50-year legacy by looking toward the future of water security. The National Water Reuse Action Plan (WRAP) collaborative is helping communities build capacity to pursue water reuse practices as part of an integrated water management approach. Reuse is a key tool for tackling growing demand and climate challenges. For developing potable water reuse approaches, SDWA provides an important benchmark to ensure safety through established drinking water standards. At ERG, we’re proud to have supported the WRAP since its inception in 2019, advancing reuse to create a more resilient future for all. We’ve provided EPA’s Water Reuse Program with a range of services to help advance sustainable water reuse nationwide, including project management, facilitation, development of communications products, and technical assistance. The ERG team, including Bobby Jacobsen, Adriane Garnreiter, Emily Isaacs, Collin Mummert and others, are committed to promoting innovative reuse solutions that conserve our freshwater resources and protect public health. ERG provides ongoing programmatic support to EPA in facilitating the WRAP collaborative, which has grown to 175 partner organizations and 74 action commitments as it approaches its fifth anniversary. 👉 Learn more about ERG’s work to support the WRAP and advance water reuse: https://lnkd.in/ebu2pw4C #SDWA50 #WaterReuse #Sustainability #WaterQuality #PublicHealth #ERGImpact

Emerging contaminants like PFAS are widespread in the environment and many drinking water sources. The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) helps water systems identify these threats through required sampling and regulation. Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding is further enabling communities to identify and address emerging contaminants and proactively protect public health. ERG is proud to be at the forefront of national efforts to deploy support where it is needed most. Our experts including Jenny Raczko, PE, Andrew Gates, and Linda Hills are helping water systems, federal agencies, states, Tribes, and local communities address PFAS contamination through sampling, scientific and engineering support, and direct technical assistance. We supported the National Park Service with PFAS sampling and data analysis in national parks by creating data dashboards, analyzing results, and supporting outreach and communications. For the EPA, we are providing direct technical assistance to Tribes in the Southwestern U.S. to evaluate levels of PFAS and lithium in source waters, address contamination, develop treatment strategies, and secure funding for lasting public health solutions. 👉 Learn more about ERG’s work on PFAS in drinking water: https://lnkd.in/e3uMnT6U #SDWA50 #PFAS #EmergingContaminants #WaterQuality #PublicHealth
