Today, we were proud to work with U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) to introduce important bipartisan legislation to stimulate the carbon removal market in the United States. The Carbon Dioxide Removal Investment Act would update existing tax code to right-size it to the current industry, where innovative American companies are using a variety of methods to permanently remove carbon dioxide pollution. Currently, too many carbon removal companies are unable to access tax incentives because their specific technology is not reflected in the tax code. That's why lawmakers and businesses across the United States are calling for this critical update to support the full spectrum of carbon removal tools in our toolbox. “This tax credit for carbon removal will allow innovative American companies working to permanently remove carbon pollution from our atmosphere to access critical incentives that can power their work — in turn unlocking climate benefits, economic growth, and in-demand jobs across the country,” said CRA Executive Director Giana Amador on the bill’s introduction. We’re so grateful to Senators Bennet and Murkowski and all of our partners who helped make this happen. Let’s do this! https://lnkd.in/efWV6jfV

Ebb has signed a deal with Microsoft to remove up to 350,000 tonnes of CO2 over the next ten years! To measure, report, and verify these removals, we’re pleased to be partnering with Isometric and will utilize their first-of-its-kind MRV protocol for Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE). Here’s why this deal matters: 📈350,000 tonnes is huge. It would represent by far the largest marine CDR deal out there, and one of the larger CDR deals to date. 🌊We know the ocean is one of the most promising pathways for affordable, gigaton carbon removal. The fact that Microsoft is putting its purchasing power behind this pathway is a huge validation point for the entire sector. This is a big day for Ebb. Onward! #mCDR #oCDR #CDR #climate #climatechange #CO2 #carbonremoval #ebbcarbon #OAE https://lnkd.in/gHCzbj_e

Last week, our CEO and Co-Founder, Ben Tarbell, testified before the U.S. House of Representatives, highlighting the critical role that marine carbon dioxide removal can play in addressing climate change. Ben also shared our progress in pioneering Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement as a scalable climate solution. With strong public-private partnerships 🤝, supportive federal policies 🏛️, and streamlined permitting ✅, we believe marine CDR has the potential to make a transformative impact in tackling the climate crisis 🚀. It's time to turn possibility into reality! 🌟 You can read Ben's testimony in full here: https://lnkd.in/ggmTb3wu

Last week, I had the privilege of testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology alongside Noah Deich (DOE), Sarah Kapnick (NOAA), and Scott Doney (University of Virginia). I described the immense potential of marine carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and Ebb Carbon’s unique role in pioneering Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement as a scalable solution. It was a moment to share our progress, from early demonstrations at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to our proposed pilot in Port Angeles, WA. At Ebb, we’ve always believed that the way we remove the first 1,000 tonnes of CO2 will shape how we remove the next billion. But this work goes beyond technology—it requires strong public-private partnerships, community engagement, smart federal policies, and streamlined permitting pathways. These elements were critical to scaling solar energy, and I believe they will unlock the same potential for marine CDR. Now is the time to move from possibility to reality. We have a narrow window to accelerate the deployment of these vital climate solutions and I’m excited that we are working alongside the federal government and industry partners to make it happen. #CDR #mCDR #climateaction #carbonremoval #climatechange #climatesolutions

Ebb Carbon is an XPRIZE finalist! As one of 20 finalists announced today in the carbon removal space, we’re working toward the $50 million grand prize that will be awarded in 2025. This is a great recognition of the incredible progress we’ve made in a short period of time to advance our marine carbon dioxide removal system. To be named a finalist, we had to meet a number of key milestones, including displaying operational maturity towards removing 1,000 tons of CO2 this year, and a viable pathway to reaching megatonne scale in the coming years. Over the next year, judges from the XPRIZE Committee will conduct verification visits at operational sites of all of the finalists, including Ebb. We’re incredibly excited for this next step and to show the judges our technology in the real world.  #oCDR #mCDR #CDR #climate #climatechange #CO2 #carbonremoval #ebbcarbon
