We are happy to introduce our new SGEU Steering Committee! Following the elections in July, the committee welcomes three new members: Federica Zardo (Donau University Krems), Christian Freudlsperger (ETH Zurich), and Adam Holesch (IBEI). Our new chair is Dimiter Toshkov (Leiden University) and our deputy chair is Ana Juncos (University of Bristol). We warmly thank Natasha Wunsch, Virginie Guiraudon and Jonathan Zeitlin who are stepping down as members of the Steering Committee after completing their terms. They all provided great service to the SGEU standing group in various capacities (chair, treasurer, conference organizer), and their engagement has been crucial to the development of our group and its activities. We are all deeply grateful for their contributions! Some final words from our outgoing chair: 'It has been a great pleasure and honour for me to serve as the SGEU chair over the past two years and I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events in the years to come. Best wishes, Natasha Wunsch'

Reflecting on the Success of the 12th Biennial SGEU Conference in Lisbon💡🌟 The SGEU conference, held from 19 – 21 June 2024 at Universidade NOVA, was our largest yet and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all attendees for contributing to vibrant discussions and exchanges on EU related research. Some highlights of the conference included the Plenary Roundtable on the 2024 European Elections and the JEI keynote lecture by Brigid Laffan. Moreover, the Early Career Workshops were a fantastic opportunity for emerging scholars to network and exchange ideas. Special mentions go out to our local host at Universidade Nova - Alice Cunha and her team for their excellent work and hospitality - Obrigada! Thank you to our Conference Co-Convenors Virginie Guiraudon and Stefania Panebianco for their seamless coordination of the conference together with the support of the SGEU Steering Committee. Lastly, a huge thank you to Natasha Wunsch and Dimiter Toshkov for their wonderful leadership as SGEU Chair and Vice Chair throughout the years.
