Philippine Doekes and Montse Daban Marín did a great job representing EHAB at the #AdvancedTherapiesEuropeConference in Lisbon. 🇵🇹 Philippine’s presentation of the mapping and analysis of interregional data on the European advanced therapies and biomaterials manufacturing value chain did indeed spark a valuable panel discussion, highlighting… 🗺️ The evolution of regional to national mapping, as already is the case in France and Sweden 🖥️ The need for an open access tool - accessible for both SMEs and individuals - for this database, to facilitate validating data and fostering connections We are very happy with the significant interest from various regions to join EHAB, and we’re very excited for the next steps! 🤝

🌍 EHAB was proud to participate in an inspiring event organized by the VI Smart Health Pilot, where we joined a group of forward-thinking partners to explore the incredible potential of personalized medicine in transforming healthcare! 💊 The VI Smart Health Pilot event, as part of S3 platform, spotlighted how #PersonalizedMedicine can revolutionize patient care, by tailoring medical treatments to the unique characteristics of each individual. We had a fascinating exchange of ideas on how to address the evolving needs of #SmartHealth in Europe, and how to bridge innovation gaps across the entire value chain. 💡 A special highlight was the tour at ReGEN Biomedical, one of the EHAB project partners, where we delved into the opportunities and challenges of advanced therapies and biomaterials. This experience has further fueled our commitment to advancing #innovation in #healthcare. 🚀 Exciting times ahead as we continue to work collaboratively to shape the future of smart health in Europe!

EHAB's presence at Advanced Therapies Europe was marked by insightful discussions in the "Women In Advanced Therapies Congress" sessions! We were proud to have Philippine Doekes and Montse Daban Marín representing EHAB. During the WIAT Roundtable 10 "Playing the Game - Strategizing Career Transitions", the complex journey of career advancement, focusing on key transitions such as moving from academia to industry, switching therapeutic fields, and navigating career stages were explored. A key takeaway? 📢 Your network is your greatest asset when transitioning roles, and personal branding promotes your visibility. Thank you to all who joined for the open and enriching discussions! #AdvancedTherapies #WomenInScience #ATE24 More info about Advanced Therapies Europe: https://lnkd.in/dH4RP6Z6

How can we accelerate the delivery of innovative #health techniques and products to patients who need it? By working together to make cell, gene and tissue related therapies available to all European citizens! 💡 That’s why eight European organisations - including flanders.bio - joined forces in the European Hub for Advanced Development in Regenerative Medicine and Biomaterials (EHAB). By building a European interconnected value chain, the #EHAB will identify regional strengths, weaknesses, gaps and needs. 🇪🇺 Stay updated on our progress in strengthening the European landscape in Advanced Therapies and Biomaterials (AT&B) by following the EHAB page! ☝🏼 🫱🏽🫲🏾 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 BOM (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij) (🇳🇱) - Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus (🇳🇱) - BioRegio STERN Management GmbH (🇩🇪) - A4TEC Association (🇵🇹) - Biocat, BioRegion of Catalonia (🇪🇸) - RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (🇸🇪) - MedSilesia Cluster - Silesian Medical Devices Network (🇵🇱) - flanders.bio (🇧🇪) 🙌🏽 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 Provincie Noord-Brabant - Provincie Limburg - RegMed XB - Departement Economie, Wetenschap en Innovatie (EWI) - Vanguard Initiative - Generalitat de Catalunya - Leitat Technological Center - AseBio - Asociación Española de Bioempresas - Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) - Fraunhofer IPA. It was a great honour to participate as Jury in the PhD defense of Patricia Barros da Silva. Congrats fro the excellence work, disuccion and scientific contributions.
Yesterday marked a moment I will forever remember! 💫 After 6 years of relentless dedication, I am incredibly proud to announce that I have successfully defended my doctoral dissertation titled ‘Bioengineered 3D microenvironments to study the impact of the Extracellular matrix on cancer-associated Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition’ and have officially earned the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering. 🌟 This journey has been undeniably challenging but extraordinarily rewarding. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way, especially my exceptional supervisor Cristina Barrias, esteemed co-supervisors Joana Paredes and Molly Stevens, my colleagues at BeMIC - Bioengineered 3D Microenvironments, and the entire community at i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde. I also extend my sincere thanks to Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto and Imperial College London for their academic environments, Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) for funding, and, most importantly, my amazing and supportive family and friends! A special appreciation to Catarina Brito, Miguel Oliveira, and Maria José Oliveira for dedicating their time to read and discuss my thesis. Your contributions made yesterday an exceptional day for me! Reflecting on this journey, I've learned that nothing compares to the challenges of a PhD, and the resilience gained becomes an integral part of one's character. 💪 🙌 🍀 #PhD #BiomedicalEngineering #i3S #FEUP #ImperialCollegeLondon #FCT #BeMic
