In this month's Game Performance Database poll, Aristocrat Gaming and Bluberi tie for *impressing* G2E attendants with game mechanics (land-based) collectively gathering over 50% of responses. Light & Wonder trails right after. Adding some context to the results, there were a couple of games that stood out to me. Aristocrat's new Bao Zhu Zhao Fu Ignite draws on the triple-pot trend by adding a fourth pot and then grants the player opportunity to upgrade feature combos. Bluberi's Berry Bucks adds a perceived persistence meter alongside the traditional triple-pot game adding another chase without sacrificing RTP. I also thought Bluberi's Honey Bomb was an excellent way of revamping a Hold & Spin game. Konami Gaming, Inc. added a bingo mechanic to its Hold & Spin on Bingo Stampede where the player chase 5 in a row during the bonus. Bingo elements are seldom drawn from in slots. This game is earning around 1.5x in the GPD. Interblock Gaming also catches the attention of our respondents with games such as Marble Run. These games are innovative on the margin but don't totally recreate the wheel. #slots #casino #gaming #analytics #g2e

Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, LLC (EKG) has reported the UK online gambling black market could be worth £1.5bn in NGR for CY 2024, as the boutique analyst firm said its sustained rate of growth presented a “big risk”. The 34-page report – which is triangulated from Gambling Commission data, black market sources and in-house estimates – claimed the UK black market will grow 32% in CY 2024. The authors estimated the share of UK online net gaming revenue in the black market is 14%, compared to 12% for the Dutch black market and just over 10% for Sweden. Joe Levy reports. #EGRGlobal

We published this yesterday and as someone who has previously very much downplayed the black market threats to the UK it was an interesting report to write. So was I wrong then or wrong now? Possibly both, but I think probably neither. The last 12 months or so has seen a very big change in market dynamics in the UK and the black market is growing at a very fast clip based on all indicators I can see. This is not being driven by sports betting either, it's online casino growth from a pretty diverse source of players and with an increasingly sophisticated network of operators. The size of the prize is now just too big to ignore. This isn't a political statement. Nor is it intended to push any narrative around gambling reform, it's simply reporting on the facts as we find them and the risks (and perhaps opportunities) for the UK sector. To that end we're not doing any PR around this nor publicly releasing any numbers or estimates. They are all contained in the report for operators, investors or anyone else who is interested in this sector to read. But the most important takeaway is this. The black market is now far too big to ignore in the UK and will only keep growing unless something is done to curtail it. Three quick thoughts on Missouri's #sportsbetting ballot measure, which is set to usher in retail and online wagering by Dec. 1, 2025: 1. ATTRACTIVE TAM. Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, LLC projects a Year 5 OSB market of $548mm in GGR, implying GGR-per-adult of ~$121, which we regard as conservative. We see TAM as large enough, and fees / taxes as reasonable enough, to attract large and mid-sized operators, as well as smaller operators. Toward that end, there will be 21 online licenses. 2. ATTRACTIVE FEES AND TAXES. License fees are low ($500k initial fee, 5-year term). Moreover, using some reasonable assumptions regarding tax-deductible items (e.g., promotional credits, uncollectible receivables, federal excise taxes), we get to an effective OSB GGR tax rate of ~5.8% across Years 1-5. That's well—more like far—below the national average (~21%). 3. WINNERS. FanDuel and DraftKings Inc. are likely, in our view, to get the state's two online-only licenses. Assuming that's the case, the very low effective GGR tax, together with the absence of market access cost (i.e., no NGR sharing with casino or sports team partners), could make Missouri one of the highest-margin OSB-only markets for both operators.
