  • 5 Things You Should Never Share in the Workplace 1. Personal Gossip: Gossip can damage team morale, create divisions, and foster an unhealthy work environment. It’s easy to get caught up in office rumors, but spreading gossip about colleagues or management can erode trust and respect. Always keep conversations respectful and professional, focusing on work-related topics rather than personal or speculative matters. 2. Confidential Information: This includes anything related to company strategies, product plans, customer data, and financial details. Sharing confidential information, even with good intentions, can result in legal actions, loss of trust, or even job termination. Always be cautious about what you share, and ensure you're adhering to company policies regarding data protection and confidentiality. 3. Negative Opinions About Management: Criticizing management in a public setting can create a toxic environment and potentially harm your career. If you disagree with a decision or leadership style, it's best to address it privately and constructively, either through appropriate feedback channels or one-on-one discussions with your manager. Publicly airing grievances can come across as unprofessional and undermine your credibility. 4. Workplace Disputes: Personal conflicts with colleagues should be handled privately, whether through direct communication, HR intervention, or mediation. Sharing personal conflicts with others can lead to the spread of misinformation, escalate the situation, and make it harder to resolve. Always approach workplace issues with a solution-oriented mindset, and aim to maintain a professional demeanor, even when tensions rise. 5. Personal Issues or Drama: While it's natural to connect with coworkers, oversharing personal problems can make others uncomfortable and blur the line between professional and personal life. It may also lead to biases or assumptions that affect how you’re perceived in the workplace. Be mindful of the boundaries between your professional role and personal life, and save deep personal conversations for trusted friends outside of work. . . . . . . . #careertips #workplacetips #workplaceethics #employHER

  • — The Past 7 Months Have Tested Me in Ways I Never Imagined "Since being laid off in May, I’ve applied to 443 jobs, had 19 interviews, and received 0 offers. I’ve faced eviction notices, emptied my retirement account, and even filed for bankruptcy. Unemployment isn’t just about losing a paycheck; it’s about losing stability, dignity, and sometimes hope." Meet Karmen Kendrick, former Product Marketing Manager at Liquid Web. She is currently the Founder of Karmen Kendrick Creative. She was affected by the layoffs 7 months back and is still looking for a role. "Despite everything, I’m still here, still fighting. I’ve taken on freelancing gigs and a bridge job to keep a roof over my head and food on the table, but it’s not enough to cover my bills. Earlier this month, I filed for bankruptcy—a last-ditch effort to buy some time and protect what little I have left," Karmen shared her ordeal in one of her articles (https://lnkd.in/gDQqFFhK) employHER urges everyone to help her in any way possible. You can send the right opportunities her way, recommend her to someone who is hiring, share her open-to-work post in your network, or write her a recommendation if you know her professionally. April, you can also consider creating your profile on www.employHER.com and exploring the opportunities we have been posting daily. We hope you'll find the opportunities you have been looking for. Karmen Kendrick is a seasoned design and marketing professional with over a decade of experience helping businesses create impactful, conversion-focused online presences. Her entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 21 when she launched her first business. By 2019, Karmen had transitioned into a full-time web designer, specializing in building customized, high-impact websites for small businesses and professional service providers. In 2021, Karmen pivoted her career, closing her business to take on a full-time role in product marketing. This role allowed her to expand her expertise, particularly in crafting go-to-market strategies and launching digital products. After a layoff in 2024 and navigating nearly 500 job applications, Karmen decided to embrace entrepreneurship once again. She has since returned to the entrepreneurial arena, running her own agency and empowering clients to achieve their goals through strategic web design and marketing. employHER hopes that this feature will help your job hunt journey and you'll find your next employment venture very soon. https://lnkd.in/gZZsrSch . . . . . . #opentowork #productmarketingmanager #karmenkendrick #employHER

  • Never let the opinions of others define the boundaries of your capabilities. If you believe in yourself and your ability to grow, evolve, and excel, then no one has the right to dictate what you can or cannot do. You are not confined to one skill, one path, or one role—your potential is limitless. Stepping into something new is a bold declaration of self-belief. It shows resilience, courage, and the willingness to shatter expectations. People may doubt you, but remember: their disbelief is a reflection of their limits, not yours. Keep moving forward and prove them wrong by simply being you. Every time you challenge a stereotype or defy a label, you inspire others to do the same. The world needs more trailblazers like you—fearless, determined, and unstoppable. So embrace your versatility, and keep rising. 💪✨ . . . . . . . . #womenempowerment #hardwork #womenempowermentquotes #dollyparton #employHER

  • Interviewer: What is your work style? When asked about your work style, it's a great opportunity to showcase your personality, strengths, and how you adapt to different work environments. Whether you excel as a problem-solver, a team player, or an all-rounder, tailoring your answer with a touch of wit and creativity can leave a memorable impression. Here are three unique perspectives you can use: 1. The Problem-Solver's Perspective "My work style is like that of a detective—methodical, focused, and always searching for the best solution. I dig into challenges, analyse clues (or data!), and craft actionable strategies. Whether it’s tackling a tough problem solo or collaborating with a ‘detective squad,’ I ensure the case is closed efficiently and successfully." 2. The Team Player’s Perspective "I’d say my work style is like a symphony conductor—I keep things harmonious. I thrive on collaboration, ensuring all ‘instruments’ (team members) play their part while also stepping in for solos when needed. Together, we create something extraordinary, but I never shy away from tweaking the tempo when the situation demands." 3. The Adaptive All-Rounder’s Perspective "Think of me as a chameleon in the workplace. I adapt to my surroundings and adjust to the needs of the team, the task, or the timeline. Whether it’s sprinting ahead on a solo project or blending seamlessly into a collaborative effort, I ensure my contributions are both impactful and efficient." . . . . . . #interviewpreparation #interviewtips #interviewpreparationtips #employHER

April streamlined workflows to reduce production time by 20%, increasing efficiency and on-time delivery.
