Verdantas Flow Labs assists clients in testing their advanced dynamic turbine designs! 🌊⚡ In 2022, Emrgy Inc. leveraged our Flow Labs to test their initial turbine design. Using the collected data, Emrgy refined their design and returned to test the updated turbine in our large recirculating flume. New design elements tested by Emrgy included movable hydrodynamic walls, telescoping rotor blades, variable pitch blades, single generator, and a new low-cost rotor. During testing, which involved varying flume depths and water velocity conditions, Emrgy’s team analyzed the data to determine the optimal settings for maximum power generation. This past month the team at Emrgy Inc. attended this year's ARPA-E Technology Summit in Dallas, Texas. We were proud to be one of the few companies featured in the event where we brought a full-scale, functioning prototype of our technology to the showroom floor. Our CTO Tom Cuthbert hosted a large group to demo our exciting technological developments. As part of the event, we were honored to host US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm where our Founder and CEO Emily Morris discussed the untapped potential of distributed hydropower in our nation's existing water infrastructure and what Emrgy Inc. is doing to bring low-cost clean energy to Rural Communities. Emily Morris also participated in a riveting panel about Empowering Remote Communities: A Renewable Energy Future for Everyone where she shared the stage with representatives from Puerto Rico (C. P. Smith) and Alaska (Jonathan Salmon). Two of our team members Brandon Davis and Will Clarizio even had an opportunity to showcase our technology with "Property Brother" from Scott Brothers Global and Sustainability Advocate, Jonathan Scott!!
