I'll be at this event in State College next week with Cam Willison, sharing about some great projects Envinity Inc. has been a part of in the region. If there are any local business owners, non-profit or church leaders who own property and are curious about the current outlook for solar, this will be a great place to start your journey. I'm excited to see more business and congregations considering solar. For houses of worship, solar is an incredible way to put action behind commitments to environmental stewardship. With the current financial landscape and the recent opening of federal incentives to non-profits, installing solar is also a wise financial move that lowers operating budgets so that more resources can be invested into ministry.

Wrapping up the CHESAPEAKE AREA SOCIETY OF HOSPITAL ENGINEERS INC conference last week and we just wanted to add a shoutout to 2 amazing mentors leaving the board this year. Their legacy is adding a safe space for female Engineers to join the party and feel like they have a voice in this organization among many other accomplishments. Congratulations to Carroll Simmons and Bob Decker on their decades of contribution and mentorship to grow this amazing organization. Often, Owners and Project Managers have historically automatically selected the lowest bid or Commissioning is skipped all together. "It's not in the budget..." "It costs too much..." "They just extend my timeline..." Time and time again, a design flaw or process flaw goes unnoticed that increases the lifecycle cost of building by 10-30%. In worst cases, you don't open on time at all because you can't achieve proper conditions to pass inspections and equipment isn't performing. Welcome to BES's newest employee: Kayla Trahey! Kayla graduated from the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson School of Engineering with a degree in Industrial #Engineering, a certificate in #Sustainability, and a concentration in healthcare systems. She ran the #Pittsburgh half-marathon this summer and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro! We're excited to hear more about her study abroad program experience in Iceland studying #renewableenergy resources.
