Recent reports show that racial and socioeconomic segregation in K-12 schools is on the rise, even decades after landmark rulings like Brown v. Board of Education. This troubling trend is contributing to widening achievement gaps and limiting opportunities for many students, particularly in the South. According to the Southern Education Foundation's Miles to Go report, 81% of Black students attend schools with a majority of students of color, up from 62% just a few decades ago. At EAC-South, we’re committed to addressing these disparities head-on. Our work focuses on creating school environments where every student, regardless of their background, has a fair chance to succeed. It’s time to reimagine what education can be.
