Effective leadership during a cybersecurity breach is vital for both immediate response and long-term resilience. Not only does it protect the organization but also nurtures the team. By fostering an environment of communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement, as well as investing in technologies to fully equip the team, CISOs can lead their organization through crises and emerge stronger. In this on-demand webinar recently hosted by SASIG Events Events, Exabeam’s VP and Chief Security Strategist, Stephen Moore, discusses some of the key considerations, including a first-hand perspective from Ash Hunt, CISO of Apex Group Ltd. Water systems across the U.S. face critical cybersecurity risks, as highlighted by Kevin Kirkwood, Exabeam CISO. From industrial controls to aquifer contamination, the potential impact on our daily lives is staggering. Check out Rob Lemos’ article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gVtjWjkT Thanks, Kevin and Rob, for spotlighting this critical issue!
Rob Lemos puts out another great article that identifies a risk that we all need to be aware of. Water systems throughout the US are at risk. Local governments, water districts, states and the federal government have a blind spot when it comes to the water that we drink. Many of these systems are lights out operations that are internet connected for service. Almost all of them have some level of industrial control systems that feed chemicals into the system to 'condition' the water that we drink. Blind spots at the state level sometimes include the ability to 're-introduce' water back into aquifer systems that may not have an ability to replenish themselves naturally. An example of this would be the Denver and Arapahoe Aquifers in Colorado. What happens if this water is sent back in with contaminants/harmful agents? Major population centers could be at risk. We all need water to drink, process foods, clean... Essentially live. If our water sources become significantly impacted, large segments of the population could die. Thanks for shining a spotlight https://lnkd.in/gVtjWjkT #cyber, Exabeam, #ICS/OT

TEN18 Co-Founder, Steve Povolny, highlights a critical issue: without funding, enforceable policy, or accountability, apathy in securing water systems persists. CISA’s awareness efforts are a step forward but fall short on enforcement. Read more 👇
No incentive = no progress. Because many water systems are private entities and fall under the government's umbrella, a lack of funding, policy and enforcement continue to drive apathy in securing critical infrastructure. Until there are serious consequences for these entities demonstrating inept security practices, there will be no incentive to improve. While recent statements by CISA represent a step towards awareness, they do little to enforce and hold accountable these institutions. The risk only grows year over year, as geopolitical tensions worsen and a US government takes over that will only fuel these tensions. https://lnkd.in/gPkx9FvJ TEN18 by Exabeam #ten18

Every SOC dreams of being able to stop cyberthreats in their tracks BEFORE damage occurs—and ilionx is one of the best. 💯 An innovative MSSP based in the Netherlands, ilionx provides 24/7 SOC services to ICT NML. Because ICT NML works closely with local government entities to deliver ICT services nationwide, protecting civilian and business data is paramount. Using our SIEM and Smart Timelines™ capabilities, ilionx doesn’t need to know what a cyberattack looks like before it happens—because they’ve determined a baseline of normal behavior, they’re already investigating any activity outside of that scope.
