Last week, we got our all of our employees together to celebrate 2024 and our successes! This year, we were fortunate to have some excellent 'keynote' speakers including Dr. Anna George, Tennessee Aquarium's vice president of conservation science & education. If you are not familiar with Dr. George's work, take a look at her Weather Channel appearance discussing the importance of clean water and an art installation on plastics in the water. https://lnkd.in/e4CHzntq

PROTECTING OUR WATERWAYS with stormwater facility maintenance, innovative technology, and specialty installations.
About us
Exact’s mission is to protect natural waters from pollutants contained in stormwater runoff which comes from impervious surfaces like parking lots and rooftops. This is accomplished through the installation and maintenance of stormwater best management practices (BMPs) that hold and treat runoff before it enters creeks, rivers, lakes, bays and ultimately the ocean. These delicate systems all rely on our stewardship to remain accessible for everyone to enjoy. Exact has executed on this mission since 2013, installing and maintaining hundreds of stormwater facilities in their home region of the Chesapeake Bay, as well as throughout the eastern seaboard. In 2021, with the acquisition of Landsaver Environmental, we expanded our capabilities into new markets. We began protection of our waters during active construction operations with the installation of silt fencing, hydro-seeding, and erosion control matting, so we’re now able to assist our customers from the very beginning of project construction all the way through the life-cycle of the property.” OUR SERVICES Stormwater Maintenance: Rehabilitation, Maintenance and Inspection of all types of stormwater BMP's including ponds, underground detention, bioretention, sand filters and more. Stormwater Installation: Installation of stormwater BMP's including bioretention, underground detention, porous & grass pavers, dry swales, sand filters, check dams. Engineered Product Installation: Installation of specialty erosion products such as HydroTurf, Armormax, Flexamat and more. Liner/Containment: Liner installation, energy containment, secondary containment, tank farms, liner inspection, and repairs. Erosion Control: Perimeter control, sediment control, hydroseeding, slope & channel restoration.

The Exact Stormwater Management team is doing great work with our first ever attempt at de-barking trees to use as benches and playground obstacles for the Capital Trees project at Hotchkiss Park. Getting into new and unexpected tasks is always the fun part of these #greeninfrastructure projects.

Thanks to #NAWICRichmondChapter141 for supporting the community.
This morning, the #NAWICRichmondChapter141 cooked, prepared and served breakfast at #TheDoorways ! The Doorways provides lodging and meals for families who need to be close to local hospitals. This is the 3rd year I volunteered and today was the largest attendance I've seen! I spoke to some of the families, and it is heartbreaking to hear what they are going through. I am so glad that we were there to provide a delicious meal for them, and hope it brightened their day! #volunteering #helpingothers #community #betweenhealingandhome #rva

The Bay TMDL Indicator is a powerful tool that will provide quicker, more accurate water quality data in the Bay. It will be exciting to measure the impact of BMP's more quickly. #WaterQuality #Stormwatermanagement #BayTMDL #BMPs #Protectingourwaters #measuringsuccess
Despite a slight improvement from previous years, more than two-thirds of the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal rivers and streams did not meet clean water standards between 2020 and 2022, according to an assessment by the EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Program. However, a new Bay restoration tool offers hope for the future. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gnKEZF8q

We're turning a huge, empty grass field into a fun recreational area at Hotchkiss Park in downtown Richmond. We're adding permeable asphalt walking trails to connect the park with the neighborhood, providing access to the many amenities within the park. We're using the excavated soil to create berms to add elevation and play spaces for the kids. And you KNOW we're adding a bioretention system to handle any excess runoff we create. All total, we're adding more than 1500 plants to this park, and it's going to be spectacular! So thankful for the trust put in us by Capital Trees and Richmond City Parks to tackle this transformational project!

🌿🎉 Ribbon Cutting Celebration for the Greening Greater Fulton Project! 🎉🌿 Today, we had the honor of celebrating the ribbon cutting for the Greening Greater Fulton project—a transformative effort right here in the heart of Richmond. It was inspiring to stand alongside our partners, local council members, and community leaders who made this vision a reality, including: Chuck D'Aprix, Executive Director of @Innovate Fulton; Rob Jones, Executive Director of Groundwork RVA; Visual artists Tim Harper and Matt Lively; and Christina Daniel Bonini, with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. This project is a testament to the power of community and collaboration, bringing together public officials, nonprofits, artists, and neighbors to create a sustainable, green urban environment. 🌱 Seeing the tangible impact on the neighborhood and knowing the contribution it makes toward protecting our waters and creating a resilient, eco-friendly community is why we do what we do here at Exact Stormwater Management. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this project a success! 🌍💧 #greenstreets #stormwatermanagement #innovatefulton #savethebay

It was a privilege to work with the Town of Ashland aka: “Center of the Universe."
We specialize in maintenance of all different stormwater management facilities. Not only ponds, bioretentions, & proprietary devices but also permeable paver systems. Exact Stormwater Management team completed permeable paver maintenance for the Town of Ashland, Virginia. Such a neat town with a very special feel. We enjoyed working with them on this project and giving us the opportunity to improve the aesthetics & functionality of these downtown permeable paver areas! #protectingourwaters

WE ARE ON NPR*! The VPM feature discusses green infrastucture and how it can change a community. Exact Stormwater Management performed construction for the Capital Trees Project at Hotchkiss Field Community Center while the design and engineering was done by Timmons Group. *Indirectly. Listen or read (at the link below) about blossoming of greenspace in Richmond, Virginia and how Capital Trees along with the city are transforming heat-stressed areas with cooling shade trees and other green infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/eFgxHNWA
