As part of International Women's History Month, March 25th or National Women In Wine Day, marks a time to raise a glass and express gratitude to the women shaping the wine industry. In celebration, we've highlighted a few of the women in our corner who shine bright! Read below for their take on current trends. Blaine Blackburn, Consumer Relations Consumers are becoming increasingly deliberate about how they choose to incorporate alcohol into their lifestyles. When the right wine, at the right price, with reliable distribution enters the market, it’s also crucial to shed a light on the quality of that product so consumers can more quickly align it with their personal values. This transparency resonates with the massive shift we’re seeing towards conscious consumption. Carly Slaggert, On-Premise Relations While the On-Premise segment has rebounded post-pandemic, consumers have a new approach to drinking experiences. The wine category must adapt, emphasizing creativity, staff education, and immersive dining experiences to match the allure of the craft cocktail trend. With consumers prioritizing health and experience over technical details, it's essential to keep them engaged by offering diverse and adventurous options, encouraging continued exploration. Erica Roberts, Distributor Relations Distributors are being deliberate about what they bring to the market. We are seeing increased interest in innovative brands with creative packaging, opportunity brands that allow our joint customer-base to have exclusivity in a specific market or area, and brand inquiries related to specific consumer trends. This mindfulness mirrors the industry shift that is starting to take hold, helping to create space for what consumers ultimately want. Tracey Fotopoulos, Retail Relations Retailers have been actively creating space to provide consumers with healthier options. “Low cal,” “non-GMO,” and “organic” are becoming more than just trendy buzzwords, as we angle toward the reality of more thoughtful consumers. To accommodate this ingredient-conscious culture, retailers are finally taking a more active approach in creating or expanding their “better for you” and “low- and no-alcohol” sections in their sets, which is great to see. Have you had a spritz lately? According to Wine Enthusiast, "the wine- and apertif-based cocktail has been on the rise as an all-hours, all-seasons drink" and we couldn't be more on board with this movement. Spritzes typically contain some kind of alcohol and something bubbly, making the presentation light and bright, leaning into lower ABV consumption. The Wine Water category is a great place to start if you're looking for a wine-based spritz. Each Rosé Water and Wine Water Sauvignon Blanc can is 69 calories, 0g sugar and 4.9% ABV with only two simple ingredients: dry French wine and clean sparkling water. Here's the recipe to make your own stone fruit spritz with Rosé Water: - Handful of ice - 1 Can Rosé Water - 1 Oz St. Germain - 1 Oz Peach Vodka - 3 slices of Peaches - Chamomile flowers for garnish https://lnkd.in/eZXfeXzt
