Last week, Kristin Fox and Regan Lohman hosted fourteen innovative, early-stage companies and fourteen investors at BioLabs San Diego and the energy was palpable. During a productive two-hour Match Making session, founders engaged in meaningful discussions with investors regarding their advancements in the health technology and medical device sectors. We were thrilled to introduce Toku Eyes – a company that transforms routine eye exams into screenings for cardiovascular and kidney disease by analyzing retinal images using AI.  Toku anticipates that “vision” will emerge as the largest new ecosystem for early detection and monitoring of major health conditions. Another pioneering company, OMNIMED®, harnesses the capabilities of AI to convert operating room data into smart insights, giving organizations the edge on outcomes they need via their SMART OR technology. Meanwhile, Veera is dedicated to empowering women on the transformational journey of motherhood by launching the first breast pump to allow mothers to monitor how much milk the baby is drinking real time and to express and feed baby simultaneously.
