PROXY GEOMETRY is so fun to add into mocap. The goal? Make the virtual tangible. Being able to connect with objects in 3D lends so much believability to the worlds we work in. But creating these contact points and making them work is often hilariously lo-fi. We use all this high tech equipment and then I'm holding an old curtain rail. But it works. Suspension of disbelief is everything. You can do this with #ai but you have to get your prompt just right and then hope it has some training somewhere to deal with that. I just look under the stairs for something to stand on or walk into. #TVmatics are often like theatrical make believe and it's what makes them so fun and playful. As always, the recipe is #vicon #faceware #stretchsense and a bunch of junk we found in a skip. Here's another one of my favorite demo's produced at Beyond Capture Studios, this one was done for Get Set Games, with an IP that's a bucket list item to work on! 🙏 This 1 minute single-shot performance by the amazing Steph (wish I had her contact info 🙏) was a mimed reproduction of a clip from the animated series to show that full performance capture is a great option for cinematics even for games that aren't using a realistic aesthetic. 🤙 Body motion shot with Vicon and processed in Autodesk MotionBuilder, with Faceware Analyzer for facial tracking, and Retargeter being used to process the facial performance in Maya. 🔥 Closer look video of the facial animation can be found in the comments. 😊 #Mocap #Faceware #Vicon #PCAP #Cartoons #3D #Animation #MotionBuilder #MotionCapture
