Update on the Corporate Transparency Act (#CTA) from Ben Halpern As of December 26, 2024, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit vacated its stay of the preliminary injunction on enforcing the CTA. This means the requirement to file Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reports is temporarily suspended. Ferguson Braswell Fraser Kubasta PC will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates. Important Update on the Corporate Transparency Act (#CTA) from Christopher Williams On December 23, 2024, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals lifted a previous injunction issued by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, effectively restoring enforcement of the CTA. In response, FinCEN announced an update to the reporting deadlines: Reporting companies formed before January 1, 2024, now have until January 13, 2025 to comply, instead of the original January 1 deadline.
