Today, we share both a heartfelt farewell and an enthusiastic congratulations to one of our cherished team members, Le'Otis Boswell Johnson. After two remarkable years with us, Le'Otis has made the difficult decision to step down from his role as Staff Attorney at FCAC to embrace a new opportunity that aligns with his lifelong aspirations. Le'Otis will be joining the Juvenile Justice Department of the Harris County Public Defender's Office as an Assistant Public Defender. In this pivotal role, he will represent children who are facing criminal charges, ensuring that their rights are protected and their voices heard. His responsibilities will include attending court sessions, visiting clients in detention, gathering essential case evidence, advising on legal rights, and much more. Reflecting on his time at FCAC, Le'Otis shared: "This past Friday was my last day with FCAC after two years and it’s really a bittersweet moment. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to work with a group of people who are so dedicated, skilled, and passionate about bettering the lives of families impacted by the child welfare system. The amount of growth and knowledge that I received these past two years is truly immeasurable. This organization and group of people will forever have my support." While we are very sad to see Le'Otis leave our team, we celebrate and cheer him on as he continues to make a real and long-lasting positive impact on the lives of children in Harris County. His dedication to advocacy and justice has left an indelible mark on our community, and we are confident that his new role will allow him to extend his profound influence even further. As we bid farewell to Le'Otis, please join us in celebrating his new journey. We also want to reassure you that FCAC remains steadfast in our commitment to providing the highest quality legal representation and expert social services to children and families involved with the child welfare system.
