A campaign on the apparently endangered barf bag proved how creative and brilliant advertising can be, and it’s why FCB Chicago was named Agency of the Year at the Ad Age Healthcare Marketing Impact Awards for 2024. “The Last Barf Bag: A Tribute to a Cultural Icon” explored every corner of the barf bag universe, including a documentary on barf bag collectors in America (you read that right—people who collect barf bags) that premiered at a pop-up exhibition in New York, as well as an online store that sold repurposed barf bags. The work was not only entertaining, expansive, and imaginative, but effective, earning more than 2 billion impressions and boosting Dramamine sales on Amazon by 26% after the launch of the campaign, versus a year prior. Mercury NZ has launched a new brand platform following the reappointment of FCB Aotearoa, NZ as creative and media agency of record. To launch the "buzzy" new platform, the team collaborated with director Ben Dean from DIVISION – known for his high-energy films and transitions.
