Exciting news from Firestorm HQ! A new batch of xCell units arrived yesterday, bringing us closer to revolutionizing distributed manufacturing for defense needs. These modular, expeditionary manufacturing cells are designed for rapid, on-the-ground production, allowing us to prototype quickly, make design adjustments on the fly, and produce parts as needed in remote or tactical locations—perfect for supporting UAS, spare parts, and more. With our xCell units, we’re pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing, reducing logistical burdens, and enabling fast, efficient production right where it’s needed. Stay tuned for more updates as we ramp up our capabilities with these powerful new assets!

Matt brings over 25 years of distinguished military experience from the U.S. Navy, where he led mission-critical initiatives in electronic warfare, cryptology, and joint integrated air and missile defense. With a background in surface warfare and advanced systems integration, Matt has played pivotal roles in counter-drone tactics, air defense coordination, and tactical training, directly aligning operational strategies with Department of Defense priorities. At Firestorm, Matt will leverage his deep expertise in defense and technology to expand our market presence and establish key strategic partnerships. His forward-thinking leadership will drive growth, strengthen our defense capabilities, and ensure Firestorm’s mission to deliver innovative, interoperable solutions for warfighters. At Firestorm, we’re excited to see the U.S. Army making continued strides in additive manufacturing to improve battlefield readiness – an effort that aligns directly with our work in edge manufacturing. Like the Army’s initiatives to 3D print spare parts at the tactical edge, Firestorm has been leveraging our xCell expeditionary manufacturing system to produce UAS components close to the point of need. This approach both reduces supply chain bottlenecks and increases operational agility, just as the Army has envisioned for its forces. Folks like Edward Flinn are doing incredible things for the furtherance of AM at the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC) Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence. RIA-JMTC has a wealth of incredible technologies / capabilities highlighted below. Also, great to see the tie-in to TACOM, and it reminded me of Darren Werner leaning forward and always being helpful when it came to the Army's AM posture. Additive manufacturing has become a vital part of defense technology, and Firestorm is proud to be at the forefront, providing rapidly produced, modular solutions that can adapt to dynamic tactical environments.
