A successful Local Innovation Forum hosted by our Irish partner from Munster Technological University! 🌊 After fruitful Local Innovation Forums in Spain (Leartibai Fundazioa) and France (Technopole Quimper-Cornouaille & Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique), it was Ireland's turn to host this event as part of the #FISHINN project. 📆On 5th December, from 10 am to 1 pm, a diverse group of representatives from local government, the county council, enterprises, cooperatives, fishers, vessel owners, and stakeholders in blue tourism and the blue economy gathered to discuss the challenges, resources, and opportunities within Ireland’s fisheries ecosystem and value chain. This Local Innovation Forum was the occasion to foster collaboration between stakeholders while preparing for an upcoming field trip to Quimper, Brittany. 🚢✨ 👉 The response was overwhelmingly positive, with 12 delegates already signed up for the visit! Moreover, our Irish partner is exploring future funding opportunities to launch small-scale projects inspired by best practices from European partners, focusing on: ✅ Sustainable tourism ✅ Digitalisation and innovation ✅ Product processing and diversification ✅ Blue biotechnology ✅ Circular economy Delegates expressed strong interest in learning how other regions manage marine protected areas, ocean health, and species conservation. 🌍🐟 This initiative highlights the significance of collaboration in building resilient, innovative, and sustainable blue economies across Europe. 💙 #BlueInnovation #BlueEconomy #FISHINN #Collaboration #Brittany

➡️Fishinn workshop in the port of Saint Guénolé - a day of discussion and reflection on fisheries ports innovation potential in Cornouaille. Last Thursday, our French partners from Technopole Quimper-Cornouaille and Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique organised a collaborative workshop at the Port of #SaintGuénolé in South #Finistère, bringing together port users and other key stakeholders in the fishing sector. 🎯 The objectives of this workshop were to: ✅Share the results of the interviews and work conducted as part of the Fishinn project from May to July 2024. ✅Discuss forward-looking scenarios and hypothesis for the fisheries sector ✅Identify innovation themes and define the next steps of the project. To enhance these discussions, we were delighted to welcome Camille Souhard and Guillaume Nouvel from FranceAgriMer, who facilitated part of the workshop and presented a prospective study they conducted with fishing industry stakeholders in 2016, which was finalised in 2018. 🔗https://lnkd.in/e3kjpriP The workshop was designed to bring together port users and stakeholders interviewed for the project, as members of the Local Innovation Forum : 1️⃣ The first session was dedicated to port users 2️⃣ The second session involved a broader circle of institutional stakeholders Thank you to all participants and speakers for this day filled with rich discussions 🙌.
