About us

Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Facebook have too much power over the information we see. We can hardly search, buy a product or send a message without using their technology. We’re seeing the world the way they want us to see it. America needs something better. We need a company that gives us information without influence. We need a company that understands the heartland of America. We need a company like Freespoke. #freespokeit

Two elements are critical in building a solid digital privacy plan: DNS and Search. Over the years, I've investigated these two aspects and find they contain the most information about us that we regularly allow to be seen and collected on. I often start with search when helping people protect their privacy. It's the easiest fix technologically but the hardest in terms of convenience. We're all so used to the effectiveness of Google Search that anything else seems inferior. I don't think a law will simply fix it. It will take a culture shift and dedicated users to protect their privacy. Some of the ideas on support to alternative search engines has merit. Efforts such as Freesoke, Startpage, and self-hosted options such as SearXNG can help users break free of the data vacuum that is Google. I encourage you to check them out. Freespoke Search Startpage The article from Ars Technica explores various strategies to dismantle Google's monopoly in the search engine market. It discusses potential regulatory actions, such as antitrust lawsuits, breaking up the company, or enforcing data-sharing mandates. The article also considers market-based solutions like encouraging competition through support of alternative search engines and improving user privacy protections. Additionally, it examines the role of technological advancements and user behavior changes in reducing Google's dominance. https://lnkd.in/eADzYdmT

Probably one of the best analogies I’ve read to date: our information and social media. Frank McCourt “If I were the head of the Postal Service and I told you I was going to deliver your mail for free, you might say, “What’s the catch?” And if I said, “Well, I’m going to put a camera and listening device in every room of your house, in your workplace, in your car,” you might say, “Whoa! That’s kind of creepy.” And I’d say, “Yeah, but it’s free. And one other thing. I’m gonna open your mail and read it, and everything I learn is now mine. Your relationships, your ideas, your thoughts, your feelings, your emotions, your behaviors, everything that makes you a human being is now mine. And I get to use it in any way I want.” You’d say, “That’s unfair.” And then I might add one other thing: “I’m going to read your 13-year-old daughter’s diary, and when I discover she’s insecure about her weight, I’m gonna send her stuff to make her feel worse, send her stuff to maybe get her to buy things, so I can profit off her vulnerability, and I’m gonna send her stuff that shows her how to harm herself.” It’s not only creepy and unfair, but it’s harmful and we need to fix it.”

I was asked about Freespoke Search by a LinkedIn friend of mine -- not mentioning any names Travis Taborek, who noticed I frequently post about the search engine. Here's my response: The primary reason I came to love Freespoke is that they display the latest news on their homepage. However, they do it in a unique way. They specify whether the article was written by an outlet that’s “Left”. “Middle” or “Right”. This is pure genius. The site is very useful to me, because I’m not interested in clicking on anything from the left. However, I do notice a very strong contrast between the headlines on the same article between left and right. It’s all very interesting to me. The contrast is sometimes even comical, the way different stories are spun. Freespoke makes it really easy to sort out the genuine news stories from the leftist, socials, globalist and corporate sponsored propaganda; even though a lot of outlets on the right are actually leftists in disguise, but that's another post. *cough* Fox. I’ve been a searcher of “truth” since I was a kid. As someone who shoots from the hip, myself. I've always detested BS, lies and political correctness. I just can't be bothered with it. It's so draining to keep up with. For decades I’ve frequented grass roots journalist websites and all that stuff to find the “truth” of what’s going on in the world. So I really appreciate a websites like Freespoke, because I know that what the mainstream publishes is just to push a narrative to influence how people think. They rarely post any actual “news”. And they all post the same thing, verbatim. So there’s obviously a small group of people, dictating what they want everyone to think. The whole situation just stinks. Freespoke is also a search engine, and a really good one. They have accurate and useful results. I have Freespoke set as my default personal search engine. I’m a paid subscriber. The website also has an “Elections” link at the top which shows what’s going on politically. And I notice a new store lately too. I'll be checking that out. Happy to support the effort. Freespoke is just an awesome, unique website, service and idea. ..all that, and Kristin Jackson, the CEO and Cofounder, is awesome. I’ve been following her since I’ve been subscribed with Freespoke. Kristin is a person who has values and is obviously using her talent to do positive things in the world, instead of just trying to make money. I really respect that. But this is also why Freespoke is such a great effort. It’s been built by a champion.

With recent news that kid focused online platforms are places where pedophiles thrive (https://lnkd.in/dV8Gs7aW) and this headline that hundreds of girls tell CNN they feel unsafe online and have no one to turn to (https://lnkd.in/d98RH-Jn) - it's easy to feel you have no where online to turn. But Freespoke is here for you. We built our search platform technology to make sure your children won't stumble across pornographic content. And we do it in a way that helps to fight sex trafficking. Switch to Freespoke as your search engine today. Always get both sides of every story, with privacy and without pornography. Freespoke Search www.freespoke.com
