Are your kids home for winter break and excited to catch up with their friends? Are they looking forward to holiday parties and late nights out? Help them have fun safely by talking about the dangers of impaired driving. Encourage them to drive sober, offer to give them a ride, or coordinate with their friends' parents to ensure a sober driver is available. Maintaining substance-free environments, setting curfews, and discussing expectations for safe behavior can also help prevent impaired driving. Not sure how to have these conversations? Are you hosting a party and want to ensure no one drives home impaired? According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), there are many things you can do to make sure your guests get home safely. Remind your guests to plan ahead. Arrange alternative transportation for them. Offer alcohol-free drinks. Make sure every guest leaves with a sober driver. These are just a few ways to help everyone stay safe this holiday season. #DriveSober #ImpairedDriving #DriveSoberOrGetPulledOver #DriveHighGetADUI #SoberSeason #MontCoPA #PreventionHappensHere #PAPrevention #MAPToPrevention #MontCoPrevention

Going out with a group of friends or family? According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), a good way to prevent impaired driving is to agree on a trusted designated driver before you leave. Ask someone to stay sober so everyone can get home safely. #DriveSober #ImpairedDriving #DriveSoberOrGetPulledOver #DriveHighGetADUI #SoberSeason #MontCoPA #PreventionHappensHere #PAPrevention #MAPToPrevention #MontCoPrevention

PET FOOD DRIVE ENDS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19! 🐱🐶 Family Services’ Meals on Wheels Program is holding a Pet Food Drive from December 9–19. All donated pet food will be shared with local Meals on Wheels recipients who need a little help providing food for their furry companions. “Pets play an important role in the life of a homebound older adult, providing social connection and enhancing their physical and mental health and well-being,” said Phoebe Kancianic, Program Director, Meals on Wheels. “For many of our meal recipients, their pet is their closest companion and one of their only sources of consistent comfort.” But caring for pets takes a physical and financial toll on older adults who live alone. Feeding, grooming, and caring for them can be challenging with limited money and mobility. To help our local senior neighbors in need, Family Services’ Meals on Wheels program recently launched a Pet Program. The program provides pet food and cat litter to 25 Meals on Wheels recipients for 33 pets every month, all completely free of charge. “Keeping pets and their seniors together is just one of the ways Meals on Wheels is helping our aging neighbors feel less alone,” said Kancianic. During the Pet Food Drive on December 9–19, Family Services’ Meals on Wheels Program will collect: ✔️ Canned cat and dog food ✔️ Dry cat and dog food These pet food donations can be dropped in marked collection boxes at the following Donation Drop Off Sites: ✔️ Family Services’ Pottstown Office, 1976 East High Street, Pottstown ✔️ PetSmart, 1112 Town Square Road, Pottstown ✔️ Petco, 1844 East Ridge Pike, Royersford ✔️ Family Services’ Eagleville Office, 3125 Ridge Pike, Eagleville To learn more about the Meals on Wheels Pet Food Drive or to make a donation, visit https://lnkd.in/eXcF-q-m
