"This is an amazing time - the best time to be an entrepreneur" This morning, as part of the 'From Pitch To Funding' meetup with our friends at GUTS - Harel Innovation hub and Dinners Talk, over 160 founders at various stages and investors gathered for an open discussion about what investors are looking for this year, the trends we’re seeing, and how to move forward. Key Insights & Tips from the Investor Panel: • "If you're a second-timer, investors can bet on your team even if you come with nothing", Julian Gidron • Opportunities in Today’s Era: The AI revolution is transforming the platforms we know - websites and any traffic-based models are set for major disruption. • Mapping the Startup Landscape: Eran Savir "While cybersecurity remains a clear strength for us, Israel is evolving into a digital nation". We’re also witnessing a rise in startups across climate, agriculture, defense, and vertical AI. • The Team is Everything: Yael Alroy emphasized that when products and technology become commodities, execution and a resilient, adaptable team become essential - your team is ultimately your most valuable asset. • Communicate Clearly & Set Expectations with Investors: Amit Gilon added that investors expect solid data and practical feasibility - not just a plan on paper (unless you’re a second-timer). Their advice is to reach out early, even if you’re still developing your idea, to build a relationship based on clear expectations. After the panel, we had a fireside chat between Liad Agmon and Gal Barzilay. Liad’s top tips included: 1️⃣“To secure investment, come with a solution that makes a radical change or delivers radical value. Investors meet you for one reason - to see if they can profit from your venture.” 2️⃣Investors look for signs like charisma, expertise, and passion, along with founders who are true subject matter experts - those who have faced a problem themselves and built a solution. 3️⃣Get to the point quickly in meetings. If you have paying customers or work with big industry names, highlight that immediately to make a strong first impression.
