Future Talent Talks reposted this
🎧 This morning's commute was well spent listening to Future Talent Talks with the brilliant Shoshanna Davis and Holly Hobbs 🤳🏽 discussing employer branding – a topic that’s cropped up in recent conversations with my colleague Dan Doherty, where we were exploring the relationship between consumer and employer brands, and how crucial it is to get both right. At Group GTI, we speak with hundreds of Heads of Talent and Recruitment Managers, all focused on attracting the right students. Most conversations centre around metrics like cost per application and the balance of quantity vs. quality. However, Holly & Shoshanna raised an important point: if the hiring process doesn’t meet candidate expectations, it can lead to negative brand perception ❌. Companies often underestimate the power of candidate feedback shared in public forums, and this generation isn’t shy about voicing their experiences. 📲 💡 So, the question is: Are we doing enough to create a positive candidate experience – whether or not they get the job? It’s not just about making a great first impression – it’s about the entire candidate journey. If we fail to support and engage candidates, we risk losing them and damaging employer brand in the process. It's not just about how much we invest in talent acquisition, but how much we invest in the recruitment process, followed by retaining, developing, and truly valuing the talent we already have. How can we make the candidate experience more positive? 👉 Review your candidate communication – Are rejection emails outdated or impersonal? Are your communications clear, laying out next steps? 👉 Offer more resources – Provide candidates with helpful content or videos if they want to reapply in the future or get to know your company. 👉 Enhance feedback – We know resources are tight, but can you offer more meaningful feedback to candidates? 👉 Listen to your audience – If candidates flag issues with your process, address them. 👉 Are there any parts of the process having an adverse impact on specific groups of students? Don't just acknowledge it, take action. 🎙 Great episode ladies, thank you Future Talent Talks!! #EmployerBranding #TalentAttraction #CandidateExperience #CompanyCulture #TalentRetention #Recruitment #Hiring #Graduates #Students #EarlyCareers #EarlyTalent
