About us
Future Caucus has an audacious mission: activate young leaders to bridge the partisan divide and transform American politics. Future Caucus is a national, nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to activating Gen Z and millennial policymakers to foster cooperative political leadership and revitalize our democracy. In 2013, Future Caucus (formerly Millennial Action Project) organized the nation’s first and only caucus for young Congressional members of both political parties, called the Congressional Future Caucus. This group forms a unique entrepreneurial governing environment for the next generation of leaders. Future Caucus scaled this model into the states, currently in 34 state legislatures, with leaders creating pragmatic, post-partisan solutions on future-oriented issues. Future Caucus and its work have been featured in: Wall Street Journal, New York Times, NBC’s Meet The Press, CNN, MSNBC’s Morning Joe and Ronan Farrow Daily, ABC News, USA Today, POLITICO, National Journal, The Hill, Roll Call, BuzzFeed, C-SPAN, Al Jazeera America, and more. The national Advisory Board includes Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr., Governor Jennifer Granholm, former Congressman Carlos Curbelo, and others.

Women are disproportionately underrepresented in the legislature — we're creating space for them. Our affinity group for women lawmakers, the 19th Collective, intends to serve as a community that empowers women in legislative roles, addresses key issues affecting women, and provides opportunities for professional development. Last week, during the Futures Thinking Forum, the 19th Collective hosted a brunch discussion led by Future Caucus' Board Member Nancy Roman on how to maintain confidence as a woman in a male-dominated industry. We look forward to continuing to provide spaces for young lawmakers to feel a sense of community and be equipped with the tools they need to succeed!

On Wednesday, I joined Federal Foresight Advocacy Alliance (FFAA) Co-Chair, Kara Cunzeman, on a panel at the Future Caucus (formerly Millennial Action Project) Innovation Fellows Program. As the nation’s largest bipartisan organization for Gen Z and millennial lawmakers, Future Caucus is creating a powerful platform for collaborative governance and innovative policymaking. Following the panel, I was honored to lead their foresight program and saw firsthand how futures thinking can empower our leaders at to bridge partisan divides and address the most pressing challenges facing Americans. This conversation reinforced the vital role a U.S. Office of Foresight could play in driving forward these efforts at every level of government. I was honored to sit down earlier this week with Future Caucus President and CEO, Layla Zaidane and my fellow Federal Foresight Advocacy Alliance Co-Chair, Robin Champ, at the Future Caucus (formerly Millennial Action Project) Innovation Fellows Program to talk about the critical role that futures work has in local, state, and federal government and the reason why we need a U.S. Office of Foresight. #FFAA #USOFFICEOFFORESIGHT #STRATEGY

Federal Foresight Advocacy Alliance co chairs Kara Cunzeman and Robin Champ shared the benefits of strategic foresight for governance and policy making with young legislators who are part of Future Caucus (formerly Millennial Action Project). We are thrilled that Layla Zaidane and the staff at Future Caucus (formerly Millennial Action Project) as well as the young legislators they work with are seeing the value of (1) futures thinking in an era of uncertainty and change and (2) of taking the longer view so policymaking benefits not only today's generations but those who will come after us. All the reasons we see to create a #USOfficeofStrategicForesight apply at the subnational level as well. Perhaps these young legislators will lead the charge for creating state-level Offices of Strategic Foresight and ensuring that state agencies have foresight capacities embedded within. With policymaking at the national level in flux, this capacity is all the more urgent. #strategicforesight #anticipatorygovernance #institutionalizingforesight #government Robin Champ Suzette Brooks Masters Kara Cunzeman Reed Howard Wendy Feliz Elizabeth Clay Roy Ari Wallach Daniel Chenok Cynthia Selin Mike Berkowitz Emily Thielmann Maya Ingram IBM Center for The Business of Government Partnership for Public Service Apolitical Foundation School of International Futures (SOIF) Aditi Juneja Marci Harris Diyana (Ishak) West Cat Zuzarte Tully Ana Rodriguez DeFrates - MSW, JD Heather D. What an incredible evening celebrating the impact young legislators and changemakers are having across the country at this year’s Rising Star Awards! Together, we’re building a stronger democracy and leading a new era of collaborative governance. Young legislators are pushing this mission forward and shaping our future – we’re honored to have had the opportunity to celebrate them last night.

Yesterday, we hosted our second annual Futures Thinking Forum, and asked our 2025-2026 class of Innovation Fellows to do just that – think about the future. Seeing so many young lawmakers gathered in a room, committed to developing policies around Civic Innovation, Criminal Justice, Energy & Environment, and Prenatal-to-Three has us feeling inspired. A better future is possible and these young lawmakers are working to make it a reality!
