We are grateful for our partnership with RTW Foundation and their BioQuest program. Thank you to all of the leaders and professionals making this work possible. #STEM #mentoring #partnerships
Last week, BioQuest students from Hunts Point Alliance for Children (HPAC), Futures Ignite, and Areté Education Inc. gathered at Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS and the New York Genome Center for an exciting end of year winter celebration and lab visit. Students engaged in hands on activities including extracting DNA from strawberries, competing in a precision pipetting challenge, making fake snow, and building innovative gingerbread houses. This immersive experience showcased their teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. Thank you to all mentors, partners, and students who made this a fun, memorable day! #BioQuest #STEM #Mentoring

Today we celebrated our #CollegeCareer March at WHEELS. As we cheer on our seniors at WHEELS and IN-Tech, and the year draws to a close, we want to invite our community to join us in investing in the Class of 2025. The class of 2025 was in 7th grade when COVID-19 hit. Now, they're looking ahead and planning their futures after high school. Please join us to reach our end-of-year fundraising goal of $50,000 to ensure every senior has access to the resources they need. No gift is too small. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eyXf3fYp #educationequity #NYCschools #collegeaccess #careerdevelopment #youtdevelopment #WashingtonHeights #Bronx

We are beyond grateful for the partnership and support of the Simons Foundation with our environmental youth leadership programs. Thanks to their investment and commitment to #STEM #science youth community programs, our work ensures Jayden and hundreds of young people like him in #Latinx and #studentsofcolor in Washington Heights and the Bronx are taking action on urgent environmental issues in the community, while preparing for college and careers.
Our latest Stories of Impact video highlights Jayden, who joined Washington Heights–based organization Futures Ignite to address the environmental risks his community faces every day. Effective college/postsecondary counseling requires more than a meeting with a counselor, SAT prep, or one college tour. Young people deserve a robust array of enrichment, leadership, and career opportunities and experiences that equip them for the postsecondary planning process and journey; and expert postsecondary matching must leverage Opportunity Programs (HEOP, EOP, etc.) and relationships with higher education institutions and programs, which is critical to a pipeline of student and K-16 success. #NonprofitLeadership #YouthDevelopment #EducationalEquity #CommunityImpact #FuturesIgnite

Futures Ignite amplifies youth and community power by inspiring, guiding, and advocating for youth to determine their college, career, and leadership futures. Futures Ignite provides leadership development, enrichment opportunities, career exploration, and college/postsecondary counseling for NYC youth in their high schools and communities. We work directly in schools, serving as the college, career, and leadership hub for WHEELS, our founding school partner, and IN-Tech Academy. These principles guide our work: Place Matters: We are embedded inside the school, our staff works from our school-based office, and we collaborate closely with students, teachers, and families daily. Our community matters. We invest in every student: We use a holistic, positive youth development approach that equips students to achieve momentum and persistence to reach their postsecondary goals, no matter where they are starting from. Long-Term Commitment: We are a long-term school partner, committed to achieving postsecondary student outcomes above and beyond any one contract or funding source. #NonprofitLeadership #YouthDevelopment #EducationalEquity #CommunityImpact #FuturesIgnite
