The Metropolitan Transportation Authority-operated Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is undertaking the transformational Eastbound Re-Route (EBRR) at the Harold and F Interlockings, two of the nation’s busiest #rail junctions: bit.ly/48w8GWJ.     When complete, Amtrak trains will seamlessly bypass LIRR trains entering Harold Interlocking, improving speed and efficiency for travelers departing from Penn Station. This game-changing project brings major improvements:     🛤 New tracks, signals, switches, communications, and power systems to enhance reliability.   ⏳ A state-of-the-art cut-and-cover tunnel and grade-separated crossover to reduce delays.     This modernization will create smoother, faster travel and support new train service to Grand Central Terminal.
