Seth Ingram is the Executive Director of the Rome International Film Festival (RIFF) and Division Chair of Humanities in Film Production at Georgia Highlands College. He also executive produced the highly anticipated, Georgia-lensed, ‘Signing Day.’ The film, which was fully funded in the state, follows “a young college football coach is sent to rural Alabama to try and sign the nation’s top high school defensive end and soon finds himself trying to outflank rival recruiters and win over the player’s wildly dysfunctional family.” An early screening of Signing Day will be hosted this weekend at Kennesaw State University. Details about the film’s official distribution will be released soon. Georgia Entertainment 200 Spotlight: Keith Perissi, Director, Joel A. Katz Music & Entertainment Business (MEBUS) Program – Kennesaw State University Long-time experience as a professional touring musician and recording artist enables Keith Perissi, MBA, to intimately understand the entertainment industry. The fact that he started his career in Atlanta and is now director of Kennesaw State University’s Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business (MEBUS) Program illustrates that he also understands the intricacies of Georgia’s unique and thriving creative industries firsthand. Perissi spent more than 15 years on national music tours and recorded five albums and multiple singles. In addition, throughout his career he gained experience in songwriting and audio/video engineering, as well as in the fields of promotion, talent management, talent booking, marketing, concert and event production, and entertainment business entrepreneurship. Georgia Entertainment hosted another successful Signature 100 & Unscripted event at The Columbus Museum, drawing industry professionals and officials from across the state. The evening featured networking in the museum’s galleries, remarks from entertainment leaders in the theater, and a lively afterparty at Nonic. Speakers included Warren Ostergard, C. Scott Votaw, David Sutherland, Matt Campbell, Joel Slocumb, and Danna Gibson, who provided insights on Georgia’s growing entertainment industry. The program also honored Peter Bowden, CEO of VisitColumbusGA, with a standing ovation as he prepares to retire at the end of the year. A new collaboration between Discover Dunwoody and RE:IMAGINE is paving the way for young talent to gain valuable opportunities in Georgia’s booming film and media industries. RE:IMAGINE, known for connecting youth with major players like NBC Universal and Warner Bros. Discovery, will now benefit from funds generated through hotel bookings in Dunwoody to support marginalized youth. This partnership highlights significant strides in youth development, with over 100 placements in major studios over the past two years and more than 30 employer partnerships offering paid positions. Dunwoody’s role as a key hub for production accommodations further strengthens its connection to Georgia’s entertainment sector.
