    Throwing my off-the-cuff predictions into the marketplace of ideas: 🚗 Most seat/subscription businesses are asleep at the wheel. AI is driving a sea change in pricing models for businesses that used to be pure subscription 🤭 We're going to see a lot of companies walk back pricing changes due to insufficiently user-focused migration plans 📈 Frank Slootman was right - we are all customer success teams now. UBP aligns spend to value to usage - if a customer isn't using your product, they don't show up in your revenue Cheers to a great 2024, may 2025 be 10x as wild.

    Most pre-AI businesses are ‘default dead’ even if they don’t know it. Amusingly, I think most of them think they have it figured it out. They rolled out AI-enhanced product features this year. They’re seeing record-breaking growth. They’re getting rewarded by the street. But the problem is in the business not the product. AI completely changes the value prop of your business. In simple terms if today you’re a seat-based SaaS - you’re selling human augmentation. In an agentic world - you’re selling work. The value frame has shifted, and your commercial model needs to shift as well. Retrofitting into your existing business is OK in the short-term, but eventually we’re all gonna run our business like Snowflake, Databricks, and the hyperscalers - obsessing over NRR and continuous value expansion. This shift affects every internal team - sales, support, product, finance. In the AI regime, the best leaders are treating their business like the Ship of Theseus - replacing planks as quickly as possible.
