In the New Year I want to take a deep dive into the world of the Customer Success teams that I help... but why wait! Sandra Bustos has led CS teams for nearly a decade & was kind enough to share one of her best New Years Customer Success stories (including one of the best compliments that her teams have ever received)! Looking forward to having more of these conversations in '25

  • The OnRamp team wrapped up the year with a virtual holiday cookie baking class last week! 🎄🍪 Our teacher, Baking with Melissa, guided us through making Levain Bakery-style chocolate chip cookies. Despite our questionable baking skills, they turned out surprisingly well...but we’ll stick to building software, not cookies. If you’re looking for fun virtual team-building ideas, we highly recommend Confetti! They made it so easy by organizing all the details and sending everyone on the team the materials needed. A sweet way to end to the year!

Is the cost of your team spending hours in 1:1 onboarding meetings more than your lowest tier customers are paying you? 🤔 Donna Weber, author of Onboarding Matters, shares a wake-up call for companies still stuck in the high-touch, high-cost cycle. In a recent conversation with Frank, Donna dives into the hidden costs of 1:1 onboarding and explains why scaling with a 1-to-many approach isn't just smarter, it’s essential for profitability.

  • This week, we hosted a CS Holiday Happy Hour at The Merchant in Boston to wrap up the year with local customer success leaders. Thanks to everyone who joined us! We loved hearing firsthand about the challenges and successes shaping the CS community in our HQ city. What we heard most? More Boston CS events please 👀 We’re looking forward to bringing more customer success professionals together in 2025!

Last night, we hosted a CS Holiday Happy Hour at The Merchant in Boston. It was a great way to bring the Boston CS community together before we close out the year. I know this time of year is hectic for everyone, end of the quarter / year, finalizing 2025 planning, and juggling everything that comes with the holiday season. But there’s something special about hitting pause, coming together in person, and connecting with other CS leaders to reflect on this year and get excited for what’s ahead in 2025. Thanks to everyone who joined us. The CS events we’ve hosted the last few months have been a great reminder that while CS is all about customers, it’s also about community. We look forward to hosting more CS industry events around the country (and especially in our HQ city of Boston) in 2025. Here’s to a strong finish to the year and big things ahead. Neil B. • Paul Holder, OnRamp CEO, explains what sets OnRamp apart from other customer onboarding tools on the market. While many tools focus on adding complex project management features, we prioritize what truly matters: the customer. OnRamp is the only platform with two distinct user experiences: one designed for internal onboarding teams and a separate, intuitive client portal for customers. Everything is built with a single goal in mind: creating a customer-first experience where users can effortlessly complete tasks and onboard with ease.

  • Your product can be copied. Your price can be undercut. But your customer experience? That’s what sets you apart. According to Gartner, by 2025, 89% of businesses will compete primarily on CX, surpassing traditional factors like product and price. And it’s no wonder why. Thanks to AI, anyone can build a product faster than ever before. CS is your competitive advantage. Make sure your team has plan for how you will prioritize onboarding, engagement, and proactive support in 2025.
