We were pleased to celebrate our strong partnership with Giant Food today by engaging with local store managers and teammates to commemorate the chain's annual gift of 1,000 turkeys for the holiday season. Almost all those turkeys are already on their way to Thanksgiving tables through our network of community partner agencies, but the Giant Food staff lingered after posing with some of the turkeys still on site to help us pack thousands of fruit cups for distribution. We love our friends at Giant Food!

We are proud to have participated in this year’s Pack to Give Back event on November 1st, organized by the Maryland Food Bank!   With the dedication of over a dozen Giant Food associates, we completed 14 pallets of food, totaling an impressive 14,560 pounds, to help Marylanders in need this holiday season. At Giant Food, addressing hunger is one of our core pillars of giving, and we are committed to being a Better Neighbor in the communities we serve.    We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Maryland Food Bank and celebrate the spirit of giving. Special thanks to Giant Food for donating 1,000 turkeys from Shady Brook Farms so our community partner pantries have some on hand to share with those they serve this holiday season! Exciting news! Today, we are celebrating the grand reopening of our store in Westminster, Maryland, located at 405 North Center Street! The remodeled location offers customers an enhanced shopping experience with many amenities, including our Giant Pharmacy, full-service meat and seafood departments, a gourmet cheese selection, expansive prepared food offerings, and more!    We were extremely proud to highlight three outstanding associates who went above and beyond during the store's improvement process, and we are so excited to welcome all our customers to the newly remodeled store! #GrandOpening #GrandReopening

We want to give a big shout-out to our Giant Food associates who volunteered at the The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore last week! Everyone worked hard to complete all the tasks, including trash pickup along the roads and entrance, moving heavy tables and chairs, and sorting through a massive amount of tasting cups for the zoo's OktoBEARfest event, which featured unlimited sampling of seasonal brews, admission to the zoo, and more.    Giant continues to work towards being a Better Neighbor in our communities, and we're always ready to lend a hand to support our community! #Volunteering #CommunityImpact #MarylandZoo 

Last week, Giant Food proudly kicked off our annual "Lend a Hand for Hunger" campaign, supporting five local Feeding America® food banks — Capital Area Food Bank, Maryland Food Bank, Food Bank of Delaware, Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. This year, we're raising funds and bringing back our in-store food drives to collect nonperishable goods to support our neighbors in need.
