This AI-powered mobility aid is “pioneering the era of intelligent guidance” to help the blind and low vision community navigate the world better. Glidance Inc founder Amos Miller told #BrainstormAI that it takes “five years and almost $100,000 to train one blind person to use a white cane or a guide dog.” His invention, Glide, uses autonomous driving technology to assist users in a quick-to-learn and easy-to-use format, Miller said. “Work at Glidance is pioneering the era of intelligent guides.” Glidance Inc founder and CEO Amos Miller lost his sight in his 20s due to a genetic eye condition—that’s why he pioneered the AI-powered mobility aid designed to help the blind and low vision community navigate the world better. “It uses autonomous driving technology to guide the person, keep you on a safe path, steer you around obstacles, and take you all the way to your destination.” At the Fortune Brainstorm AI conference, Miller discussed how he built Glidance and his plans to get it into the hands of millions of visually impaired people across the globe.
